My bank did process it the next business day (i.e. the money was transferred). It was the NVC that took another 5 days to get the IV status as "paid".

Also you are wrong about the death certificate. I was RFE'd by the USCIS asking for the death certificate. I did not send it in again to the NVC but it won't surprise me if they ask for it anyway.

sorry what I meant was that with my bank processing and NVC together, it still showed PAID nex day.

abt the death certificate(for parents's petition). Lets not mix up our unique situation with correct procedure. The death certificate is NOT REQUIRED at the USCIS stage. If your adjudicator was not up to date with current procedure and RFEd you for yor parents death certificate then that was wrong  . only four documents are required: the form I-130, your proof of citizenship, birth certificate showing your name with that of the parent you are petitioning and of course your payment

People come here for guidance and it is important we try to steer them in the right way. Now anyone who decides to include death certifcate at the USCIS stage for their parents could do so(its optitonal) but at the NVC stage it becomes mandatory.

you are on the right track ayhd. your file is now at NVC so you need to submit originals or certified true copies of all civil documents. again make sure you also include copies of each of thse documents inyour IV package so that they can return the originals to the applicant at the interview.

from what i understand the certified true copy has to be issued by the same agency that gave the original. they are the ones who look at the original and give the copy saying " this is a certified true copy of the orignal document". I have never done it but Thats what I have read. I have always submitted my originals to NVC and always got it back during the interview inmy country. The only time thay may keep your original is if you DO NOT submmit a copy for them to keep in their files.
