Wow! It's been months since I've posted here because for a while I thought I would never be able to say...My honey is here! It took nearly 6 months after "approval" to get him here.

We were "approved" on the day of our cita on May 3, 2012...but later they said that he needed to get DNA for sons before visa would be issued. No problem we thought. Just get the kids from Haiti(that's where they are) and bam! He would be on his way. But, oh no, was more to the story than that. He sends for kids and goes to lab to have samples taken when they tell him that they must have kids' passports before results are sent to embassy. The boys have never had passport because they are 9 and 10 yrs so never needed them because they traveled with parents. Anyway, the kids were born in DR but currently reside in Haiti. Their birth certificates stated that but they were listed as strangers(aliens) because my fiance is a resident only, not a citizen. We went through all the BS trying to get them DR passports and this took about 2 months when we finally realized were up against a brick wall. Although the kids were born in DR we had to resign ourselves to the fact that DR would never give them a legal passport, even though by law they are to have one. We started on Haitian passports. So my fiance had to go to Haiti to get the Haitian passports and after 5 days was able to get them. He sent to lab and they sent to embassy. Took about 3 weeks for them to receive and then he received visa at work!!!!! Thanks to God. After, He went to Haiti to see the boys and his family and then back to DR and on to me! He's been here a week today and so far so good! Only he is hating the weather here in L.A. It is unseasonably cold here. Even too cold for me! But my heart is warm.

Congratulations! I am in San Diego, it has been horribly cold hasn't it!! Yesterday it felt like NY. I know my baby will also be complaining about the cold when he gets here, even though it doesn't get really cold.

July of 2010: We met in Eritrean when I was on vacation.

August of 2010: Returned to U.S and we spoke on the phone everyday and still do (very costly).

December of 2010 to January 2011: went back to Eritrea to see him.

January 11, 2011- Engaged.

March 2, 2011: I-129F sent

March 13, 2012: Second interview. Placed on Administrative Processing.

October 16, 2012: Case sent back to USCIS

November 16, 2012 Case reaffirmed and sent back to the Department of State (according to the USCIS SITE)

November 28, 2012 Vermont Service Center received Petition back from Embassy.

March 2013- Returned K1 validity expired. Here we go again.... !

May 2, 2013: Received NOA1 via text/email
