Most likely it is stress causing hair to fall out. The visa process and leaving your home, family, friends and starting a new life can be very stressful to anyone. The medical term is "Telogen Effluvium". The hair loss will slow with time.

I pull what looks like a small furry creature out of our shower drain about once per month. YUK!

Buy a hair trap. They are cheap, and save the drains. The worst is unwinding all the hair off the rug beater on the vacuum cleaner. I learned after burning out the first vacuum cleaner a year after the wife moved in. Someone else mentioned about going over carpets first with a canister vacuum before breaking out the upright. A garden rake is needed sometimes. I have threatened the wive with the hair clippers more than once.

Mr. Smiley, these are the products I am using. Go to www.loccitane.com and see all their products. It comes in bigger bottle and medium. Today, there were hairs in the shower but when I combed after...zero hair! So happy. At least it's not hundreds now.

Any suggestions on how to stop this?

Please learn how to help her produce a higher level of oxytocin in her body.

Ya, it's in wikipedia - I'll leave it to you to find it ;)

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Yea that cuddle hormone. Believe you me ... there are many many many sessions where oxytocin is produced ... I'll leave it at that.

Happened to mine too. Eventually it just stopped.

My recommendation is to have sex more frequently. It won't affect the hair loss, but that's unimportant.

Nope that is important. And she should be cured by now if that was what was missing

I just did a little research on this because I was curious too and I KNEW that this vitamin was important. Vitamin D deficiency can cause hair loss as well.

Your wife came from an area where she was in the sun all the time! She comes to the US and loses that big source and I'm sure NJ isn't nearly as sunny as the Philippines this time of year. Multi-vitamins might not provide enough to replace that deficency and may need vitamin D supplements.

Here are a couple of links I found:

Hope that helps!

My fiance has the same issue...I think it's a filipina heriditary/genes issue.

She's brought it up a couple times and I told her I'd still love her when she's calbo(sp)!

Like Randy Travis said "I didn't fall in love with your hair, and if it all fell out I'd love you anyway"....but, hopefully it won't all fall out ;)

Earlier I mentioned fish oil. It's high in vitamin A, D, and omega-3 essential fatty acids. Another thought I had was that Jena eats a lot less fish now than she did before she moved here.

While she was pregnant, she took high quality (expensive) fish oil capsules every day. We never really discussed the hair loss issue during that time though.
