we've read of several 'types' of letters since the MBC file transfer diaspora from 15 AUG 2012.

the scariest one was a 'notice of intent to deny' that came out of the Las Vegas Office. Them fellas be brutal !

Another type was a call-in letter, resembling an RFE but with walk in instructuctions, coming out the NYC local office.

Then there was a generic request for evidence letter, coming out of the Dallas Office.

You have a 'letter of continuance', which is basically telling you adjudication stops until you get in the requested documents.

All of these different types of letters, really, are the local offices' versions of a 'request for evidence' letter.

Ok la !! Get Busy !

when yer in China -

fill out the ds-230 with your spouse, scan it in, store it somewhere (1 )

get the police clearance certificate done, if you not have it already, white book form, scan it in, store it somewhere (1)

practice making an OPT IN email with your spouse. store it in the drafts folder.

around the 15th - call in to NVC, ask for casefile # and IIN. If it's available , the NVC TeleOperator will ask you for your email addresses and some biodata. That's a good sign. If not available then, call back once a week till you got it. Get an IDD card when yer in China, as you'll be using it to call into NVC. When you get the casefile stuff, still, don't OPT IN - only OPT IN after you receive the AOS FEE BILL via email.

basically, yer prepping for Electronic Processing into NVC. LingChe's shortcut, that unlockingsky referenced, is a great place to start for the REVIEW of the NVC process, but that's the paper process, not the EP process. It mirrors the paper process a lot, but there's still email stuff back and forth. See NVC EP - http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Electronic_Processing and don't forget to have her fill out the GUZ IV P3 Supplemental Sheet, include it with the DS-230 submittal and hand carry on interview day.

In the end, make sure, certain, that yer lass has the original 3 white books (birth certificate, police clearance certificate, marriage certificate) as she needs to show them on interview day. Sure, scans were sent in, but they must be shown at Guangzhou IV.

(1 ) The things you've stored somewhere, will be included with the DS-230 Electronic Email submission. If you handle EP whilst yer in China, make sure you have your scanned files easily available to you - suggest a usb thumb drive. Some copy shops in her city can handle the scanning to PDF quite easily, and fast - it's worth it, IMO, to get in and have it done there, as the PDF size per page can be in the 25K size when the settings are tweaked properly.

Good Luck !

see bleuawolf - http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/267559-usa-is-now-arizona/page__view__findpost__p__4100571

for photos - i'm a fan of irfanview to reduce the dpi and # of colors, then use cutepdf as a printing device, inside o irfanview, to create the pdf files.

ultimately, everything going in must be pdf format, so plan accordingly.

suggest you get a scanner and pc, scan to multi-page pdf. it's just simpler.
