I just recently married in Taishan, Guangdong on Oct 9th. I'm in California. Any tips anyone can give me to get her here more quickly and safely? Been hearing bad stories from people in Taishan. Would really appreciate it. Thanks!

I hope I got enough evidence. I bought her an engagement ring, we both have matching engraved wedding rings. We went to Lijiang Yunan together after we got married. We also took wedding pictures. Hope everything goes smoothly. This wait and distance is hard.

well, heck, file an I-130.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=218775&st=0&p=3324240&hl=Rusticentry3324240

and note the I-130 approval might come 'faster than normal'

if you file in the next 45 days,

as casefiles are routed to MSC these days cause VSC and CSC are backlogged with 'Deferred Adjudication' Casefiles.

other stuff for speed and evidence:

1. OPT IN for NVC Electronic Processing when the casefile is at NVC.

2. Include more evidence in the DS-230 submittal into NVC via EP.

I mean I did send in the required evidence. Just not a whole stack like Darnell did.

Here's my thinking..

If you are recently married, you probably won't have a lot of evidence for 'joint financial sharing' at this stage.

OTOH, showing receipts on the trip, for airline, wedding party, sidetrips, etc will be about as much as you might have,

as well as chat logs, photos of you two together and with her family, telephone bills showing that you called, etc.

Although I generated that stuff (from my list) a month after I arrived back in the USA,

we didn't file the I-130 till October 2012, almost 5 years later. By that time, I had a pile of stuff showing financial co-mingling, along with the rest of the evidence pile and the trips.

IMO, 'duration' of marriage weighs in a lot - ie - married longer when filing? You should have a pile. Recently married? Your pile won't be as big.

Also, if you are generating evidence of financial co-mingling between NOW and DS-230 submittal - hey ! submit it with the DS-230 ! Guangzhou IV is hard, they prefer to see evidence - and it makes sense to front load the I-130 and side-load the DS-230.

hth !

I see what you mean. I'm going back in March and go on some more trips and take more pictures. I'll open a new joint bank account there with her also. I'll give them as much evidence as I can next step.
