check out my timeline, i filed on 2/6/11 and just got married yesterday to my Turkish husband in the states. He got his visa on thanksgiving and arrived here 11/27/11. i was trying to plan ahead too but got shot down every time and I wasn't even planning a big wedding.

Yesterday I got married with about 20 family members in a restaurant and since we ate there we didn't have to pay to rent the space. Everything was beautiful except my photographer cancelled via text 2 hours prior but since I'm a professional photographer I trained all my family on what to do in a pinch and it worked out fine.

Best of luck to you with all your plans, use your happy days :)

Thanks for the response! I should clarify, she already has a tourist visa, which is valid until around 2020. What is a visit visa?

You should be careful. I have read in here they denied the entry due to the fact they have a case pending. If I were you I will go to visit your fiance

One thing you really need to do is get the "unofficial wedding" jargon out of your and fiance's vocabulary. You don't need it to be accidentally mentioned at an interview as it can raise all sorts of other questions. It is just a party for friends and family. There is only one wedding, and it will be held in the states after she arrives. It's a bit funny that most everyone needs to have that big ceremony with white dress, food and drink, the music and the whole bit. And a few hours later the reality hits and it's now becomes whose turn is it to take out the trash.

you are very right... They can lose more than winning :bonk:
