Well I don't know about your case and how things are gonna be during the next months but be ready for a LONG wait. I've been waiting 6 months and my petition is in Vermont. Lots of us have been waiting even 8 months. I don't mean to scare you but I strongly recommend you get ready for the worse so that you won't be disappointed in case things would slow down. About the website: I don't really understand how it works and how often they update it. Just keep checking and if you don't see anything happening in a couple of weeks, maybe give a call.

Good luck

Okay

1) do not yell. All caps is yelling. There is no need to yell.

2) it took 2 months for me to be able to check my status online. It's a thing with the MSC numbers. Don't worry about it.

3) all information is generally forwarded to the USC. As the beneficiary you will not receive emails or letters or phone calls until the I-130 is approved and moved over to the NVC stage. It sounds like you have your receipt number so your wife received either an email or a letter with this number on it. The first notice of action called an I-797C, Notice of Action letter, is called the NOA1. Example of the hardcopy:

4) how long it will take is how long it will take. It could take 20 days or it could take a year. You will have to be patient, which I know is very hard, but it is all you can do at the moment.

You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose.  - Dr. Seuss

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."
