I was wondering when someone around here was going to pick up the slack for nathan. :hehe:

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

jesus was a hippie you know..

You mean He didn't practice personal hygiene? Hard to believe, since bathing was very much a part the the religious rituals for Pharisees such as Himself. For instance, He made His grand entrance as the Precursor Evangelist with a very public ritual bathing under the supervision of the Baptist John.

It just hit me. There is really nothing in the bible about not smoking weed. Philosophically and assuming a person believed in the bible, why would weed smoking be a sin ?

romans 13:1-7 basically says, god put the government in place and we must obey the government, pay taxes, etc...

13 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.

6 For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.

7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.
