I apologize if this topic is in the wrong forum, I was not sure where to post it. My question is:

My friend is a Brazilian Citizen, she came to the US on a K1 Visa and married her fiance, an American Citizen, within 90 days. She is now waiting for her AOS process to be approved and just received her EAD/AP combo card, she has a sister in Canada and would like to go visit for a few days.

I was looking at the Canada Visa Website and it says "You do not need a visa to visit or transit in Canada if you are a United States citizen or a person lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence who is in possession of their alien registration card (Green card) or can provide other evidence of permanent residence."

I was wondering what kind of "other evidence" they are talking about, please someone who has already experienced this could please shed a light on this and tell me if she can use her Advance Perole? Or is she still required a visitor visa?

Thanks in advance!

If she hasn't completed the AOS yet, then she doesn't have the evidence Canada would require. She needs a Green card or equivalent. The equivalent is the temporary green card (Form I-551 or stamp in passport) they give you when you enter on an immigrant visa. She'll just be getting a green card, though, if she is adjusting status. If she doesn't have it yet, she probably won't be admitted without a visa.
