i really didnt get the question about the check but with regard to biometrics, you'll be scheduled within 4-6 weeks after you file for AOS.

11-26-2012- - sent I-30/I-485/I-765 package to Chicago Lockbox

11-28-2012(Day 1)- received by USCIS

12-03-2012(Day 5)- received NOA1 thru email/text

12-05-2012(Day 7)- got hard copies of I-797C

12-12-2012(Day 14)-received biometrics appointment letter in the mail (01/03/2013 appointment)

12-19-2012(Day 21)-case status available online: I-765 and I-30 are in Initial review and I-485 Acceptance stage

01-03-2013(Day 36)-biometrics done at Milwaukee

01-09-2013(Day 42)-received notification that I-485 is for Testing and Interview

01-18-2013(Day 51)-notified of interview schedule, Feb 21,2013(Day85)

02-06-2013(Day 70)-received text saying EAD is ordered for production on Feb 5th.

If she is the applicant she will need to bring her original passport and a certified copy of her marriage certificate if she filed for AOS under married name. I can't imagine why the applicant would send her original foreign passport to the IRS, I hope you will enlighten us on this.

she sent her original passport because she doesnt have any ID except her passport for her husband tax. because she doesn't have any SSN so while filled tax, now IRS need to see in real document with photograph for her ITIN

so for now, she has to waiting til her passport back then process her AOS :)

My biometrics appointment was about 4 weeks from the initial filing of our petition.

---

She sent her actual passport? Could she not have just photo copied the original and or even had it certified? Do they really require her actual passport? Are you sure she will get it back? I have never heard of anyone sending in their passport.

Sorry to sound so shocked but that seems odd to me.

hello There,

I was under the impression that if they called you for a "biometrics appointment" that subsequently, you will get a EAD card to commence working here in the US. I gave the USCIS a call and they said that if I did not file for form I-765, then I have to wait until the AOS gets processed before working here. My question that I have is WHY then is the fingerprinting for then?, I thought that once they had on file, and found out that the person has not been in any problems while being here, then, can issue that Temporary working permit for that person to work here. I guess I was mistaken.

You will only get an EAD if you applied for one. You did not so you will not get one.

Finger prints are taking for AOS regardless of whether or not you applied for employment authorization as well.
