G-325a - Who Files & ?? About Field

In one forum discussion, I read the CIS only needs the g-325a for the new resident, NOT the American (cuz the new resident is HERE, not in the home country). True? Also...Way down at the bottom of the form is the section "This form is being submitted in connection with " What? I-485 Adjustment of Status? K-1 Visa? I don't quite get it.

only the one that is applying for Adjustment Status needs to do the G-325a....and you are applying for I-485 Adjustment of Status...you have already applied for K1 and received it...lol

Only your significant other needs to fill out the G325A since you are applying for his/her adjustment of status not yours (I guess you are already US citizen and have permanent residency). Also, the G325A ist submitted in connection with "status as permanent resident"
