My wife and I just had our interview yesterday. Appointment time was 930. Got there 830 and was called in at 11:30. We had plenty of evidence but the IO just asked for our ID(drivers license) and my wife's passports( overstay student). He walks out with our ids, presumably to make copies, and returns. Took a copy of our bank statement also. Then he mentions that something is missing and that I should wait in the mail. Interview was very very brief, He asked my wife like three questions. He then hands us a printout that says 180days adjudiciative review needed. He says that the interview is over when i ask what that "missing" thing was. He wouldn't say and shows us the exit. Needless to say, wife is on edge. Do any of you have advice or opinions? thanks

HI mark:

after the interview, did the IO take off your wife (the applicant)'s I-94 card? the white card which should be on her passport? if he did this your wife got 90% pass the interview, if not, that means they dont believe your marriage, probably they you guys will have a home visit investigation, good luck my friend.

and also did the IO separate you and your wife? only 3 questions sounds impossible, there are 2 reasons why the interview went quickly, 1st i think is they dont wanna waste time due to you didnt bring sufficient documentation, which means you did t complete the whole interview, thats why you got 180 days to wait, 2 is if you dont mind i ask do you have a baby? if both of you guys have a baby the interview will be done as fast as you mention. ive seen this situation before.

Did you submitted good number of bonafides evidences & joint financial docs with application ?

Please give more details, and if any red flags like prev marriages, age diff, diff countries etc so that people can advise you.

Never heard of '180days adjudiciative review', What is this?

Usually its further Review which is for 30 days.

Anybody have idea?

It's AP. 30 days is not normal at all, 180 days is often given as a timeframe, though it can be a lot quicker or a lot slower.

AP = Administrative Processing in this case. Done stateside, this process may go by a different name, but the concept is the same as any AP done abroad. It is post-interview delay for further checks and processing. There is no set timeframe for it to be over, but usually is a while. Your letter very well may say 30 days but I don't think there is a set normal letter to be give out. I see a lot of people report their letter says 180 days. That basically is a way to say "don't call us, we'll call you."
