Hi-

My wife and I have just finished out interview 6 days ago w/ an instant approval from the officer. Now we received a call from that officer saying our case was on hold because my wife needed 2 more vaccinations. Tdap and Varicella. On her worksheet it says 'INSUFFICIENT TIME INTERVAL" on both of those shots. Why wouldn't they point this out earlier before approval, and do i just need to get her the vaccines or goto a CS? Also, after the officer called, a few hours later we received an update for her green card saying that it was mailed out today, and she received a Welcome to America letter from USCIS. Does she need those shots?? I am very confused now. :help:

Thank You and Happy Holidays!

Welcome to the forum.

Lately, the USCIS has been sending all manner weird and confusing messages. Suggest that you contact USCIS and find out the answer to your questions.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

That is odd, but the online system has been known to be unreliable. If they were marked 'INSUFFICIENT TIME INTERVAL', did the DS-3025 also say she was eligible for a blanket waiver? If so, she should not have needed those vaccinations to have her AOS approved. If she receives her green card, then I would think you were approved and not on any hold. In that case I would just have her get the vaccinations she needs at any doctor you choose or your local health department when you can. If her green card does not arrive, then you will need to take the DS-3025 to a civil surgeon and get the shots there, or get them elsewhere and bring proof of them with you to get the vaccinations transcribed onto an I-693 to hand over to your local USCIS office where you were interviewed.

Yes, the "Blanket Waiver" is checked on the DS-3025. Also I have received a tracking number on the Green Card and it is on the way. The shots are $200 here, kinda bad timing with Christmas and all. After we receive the card are we in the clear, or will it cause some problems later? I'll probably just take her to get them after the New Year anyways.

If you are approved and the card is on its way, then I would not worry. There are no problems for you later. You do not have to prove income or show vaccinations or any of those things later when it comes time to remove conditions. You will only need to show proof of a real and valid marriage.

Have her get the shots when it is supposed to be time for them. Insufficient time interval meant it was not time for another vaccination at the time of her medical. Just get them when they are actually due. You can Google the ones she would need to see how often she should get that particular vaccination. And... Congrats! :star:

My wife has a similar situation. When she arrived she had already had her medical done overseas and the first part of her vaccinations. We sent in AOS in April 2012 and it is still pending for decision. Now I am wondering if she will be RFE'd to complete the vaccines.

Any suggestions on this part? We have an infopass appointment this Friday.

If it is a vaccination of a series of shots, only the first in the series is required for AOS. If you meant she only had some of the required vaccinations, then she would have needed to see a civil surgeon to get the rest and have her vaccinations transcribed onto an I-693.

You could see a civil surgeon and followup to get it completed, then you will have a record if needed.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.
