Haha I called and got a tier 2 lady, who just plainly said..well alien registration numbers change, its a normal thing. you have no error with your case update, they did give you one...Well I guess she doesnt understand how everyone always says that happens befroe NOA2 ..it could just be a different processing procedure but who knows it seems so many of us are getting it, i dont know how all of us could get NOA2s so fast before everyone else. But god bless us anyways, im gonna call again and sweet talk more soon, well see!

I came across with someone who were approved after receiving the same message. He said that when he's status went to initial interview, he didn't received the message saying alien registration changed... just initial review, that's it. Then after 6 months, he received the same message, and after a few weeks, he received his noa2.

So I am assuming, uscis don't assign an alien number unless they already approved or about to approve the petitioner, as one member has a point, what if they denied the petition... what will happen to the alien number assigned? take it back? delete it on their system? that's an extra work for them right?

Hmmm... well, it's nice to have something to hold on to and hope for especially hearing the good news from those that were approved! Let's update each other on this thread please ....since we're all newbies

I agree they prob assign the alien registration number If they check everything and its in proper order meaning there is no reason for denial and now they are just letting us wait and waiiiiit

Ya guys thats EXACTLY what I was thinking..If they deny the petition they would delete the alien registration number, but So so so many people are getting this now that have filed in December..its our government who knows whats really going on perhaps they have so many petition they are quickly looking and approving something, just to get it out of the way, but they wont notice us this until 4 months later cuz I read that the reason why it takes so long isnt because there are so many people petitioning..its because they can only approve so many people in one year obama up-ed this amount apparently, lets just keep each other updated!

Well i called immigrations yesterday to see what was going on especially to be sure it wasn't a "glitch" in the system. The lady i spoke to was very nice and informative. She said it wasn't a glitch and we were, in fact, assigned an Alien Registration number! I asked her what it exactly meant and she told me this: It means that while you haven't been officially approved, they have found no errors in your petition and it has been sent on to be approved. She said if they needed any further information, they would contact me and so far it appears we provided everything that they needed. She said everything looked in good order and said hopefully you will get your approval very soon...sooooo..it sounds promising and we are both keeping our fingers crossed!

Our number was changed on November 23rd..I called the number that is listed on our NOA1..it's also on the USCIS.gov website where you check your status online

Did u speak to an actual immigration officer or just a tier 2, ? The first time I called it was just a tier 2, she said the same thing, I called again and got an actual immigration officer, who said looking at it, I was not actually assigned an alien fiancé number. I'm gonna call AGAIN tomorrow..but the immigration officer said like that the people on tier 2 are mostly just like a call center, they read back what u see. And they can be wrong, but I hope she was right and I hope we all got something great going on here
