Hi everyone,

I want to bring my parents into USA (grant green card). Both of my parent have visa (tourist) and lives in Mexico border (Baja California). They come to US twice a week crossing border back and forth. Here is my question below.

Should I file I-130 & I485 together? or just I-130? I was reading the information on visajourney site however is not giving me clear answer of what do I need to do.

Also I leave in State of Tennessee and they are California. Can I file the package using my home (Tennessee) address? I really need some guidance as they having visa and living far from where I leave.

My last question is according I-485 instruction page says travel outside of the US may trigger the three and ten year bar to admission of the act for adjustment applicants. I'm not sure if they fall into the category. I just want to make sure if they will be fine crossing the border back and forth after filing.

Thank in advance.

Daniel

Since your parents live in Mexico, you only have to file I-130 (one for each)disregard the I-485. Look at the guide for IR/CR1 in the guides section. You must file with your address (doesn't matter where you live). Do they have a border crossing card or a tourist visa? this matters because, once you start the paperwork , the may face more scrutiny when crossing the border if they hold a tourist visa.

Thanks for the info.

so it will not affect their visa after filling I-130.

It will not affect their visa, they can still use it but, they could face more difficulty entering the country if they venture more than 26 miles into the country.
