Hi VJ Members,

I'm a green card holder going to Mexico for the first time after adjusting my status. My question is the following:

When I get into customs & Immigration at the airport in Mexico, do I go to the foreigners line or to the Mexican Citizens one?

Thanks!!

You are a Mexican citizen so you go in the line for Mexican citizens...

Am I missing something here? You are asking about getting in to Mexico, right?

No, you are not missing any information... I was confused. I was once told to go to the foreigners line.... so what happens with my wife? do we need to go to different lines even though we are filling one form on the plane?

You are not a foreigner in Mexico. You are a mexican citizen. If you want to go with your wife in the same line, then ask whoever is directing traffic which line is best for one citizen and one foreigner. This is a US immigration site so I don't know what forms etc you fill out to go to Mexico on a plane. Good luck to you.

You can go into whatever line you choose it doesn't really matter. But the Mexican citizen line usually moves faster and your US citizen wife can go with you. You will each have an immigration form! There is only one form for customs. Hope this helps and remember to fill both parts of the immigration form. The immigration officer won't fill it out for you.
