How long after approval did you move?

I'm curious for those of you already completed and those waiting... what is/was your move date? How long after the visa approval did/do you plan to move?

For myself we expect it to be six weeks or so. Primarily because I'm not just on my own waiting. I have children to accomodate too.

If things go in our favour then year end is the goal!!

I'll only be moving 5-6 months after getting my K-1(assuming I get my interview in Jan)... but just cause my fiance is being deployed overseas for 6 months....and it's beyond our control

Moved a week later but activated the visa day I received it. Then went back the following week for my stuff.

My fiancee will be moving three months after her interview, unless it changes, then two. If we were able to get married this year, the time would've been soon(obviously). The week before our wedding, I'll be driving up to Bala with an empty cargo van and returning home with my Love and "our" belongings. Then in 118 days, we'll be married and on our way to our life together.

I'm flying back out east from Vancouver on Nov. 30th, and as long as I get the visa(knock on wood!) I'll drive to Wisconsin on December 2nd. We've tentatively planned on heading to the courthouse with some friends on the 4th. I've been bringing stuff(mostly clothes) to Joe's since the spring, and we don't have enough room for any of my big stuff anyway, it's all in a storage unit, so there isn't really much to move. I moved out of my apartment in the spring, as the lease was running out and I stupidly thought we'd be getting the visa soon after. Hopefully in the spring or summer of 07 we'll get a bigger place. I'm just going to fill up my car with the rest of my clothes and some other things I/we might need and I'm good to go. We've been waiting too long to put it off any longer, we're ready!

I received the visa March 30 and physically moved and activated the K-1 visa on May 7th. The time in between was spent working out my notice at work, packing, tying up loose ends, selling belongings, giving things away, getting documentation ready to import goods, plants and animals; selling my car and arranging for a moving company to pick up and move my belongings a few days after I left.

I got my Visa on February 7th and flew into Miami on February 23rd. The only reason I waited was to complete my six-week check up for myself and our newborn son.

I flew down the next day. Most of my stuff was already here, except my furniture and some breakables.

Since our interview is day before US Tday, I assume we would get visa the following Tuesday with Priority Courier (hope!).... planning to leave as soon as visa is in hand for 6 day drive back to Calif. We're taking "Route 66" ...

Its gonna be 2 weeks after for me. Just the time to give my notice at work and let my fiance do the 15 hours driving to come and get me so he needs days off at work Ill send few boxes by UPS in the next 2 months so that all the remainings can fit in his car. Enough with this waiting

its all up in the air for us. since we don't have approval yet and if its into new year i'll wait till kids are done school.

I think it would be too hard for them to adjust that late in the year, I'm sure there is a big difference in the studies and the u.s. schools are done first week of june.

By then my house should be sold and i can close up other stuff with work etc.

I do wish i could go immediately but my childrens needs come first.

got my visa on Oct 27, 2004, flew to the US on Nov 1, 2004, got married Nov 7, 2004. It was a whirlwind 11 days!

I spent the entire summer planning, packing, shipping and preparing to make it all happen. I don't reccommend doing things the way we did, but it worked for us. Looking back on it, I don't know how I did it!
