What did you do when, you had similar shooting in middle school and high school?

I cannot remember the guy's name I think he is the Illinois senator or member of congress who is against the citizen owning the gun but he himself has a CCW… really and he gets caught at TSA.

Another guy Bloomberg who is against gun for civilians but he has 6 armed bodyguard around him.

So politicans who propose the guns are not for civilians and someone of them buy their idea do not see this hypocrisy.

I cannot follow what you're saying here.

Not one poster on here has answered my question yet this thread is on page 2.

"Did banning guns on Connecticut public school grounds prevent that massacre?"

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Let me tell you from experience. You're wasting your time. That's 5 minutes of your life you'll never get back.

Not a secret, and I'm sure you know this, but start at the beginning of this thread and check out the plus 1's. If that doesn't say it all I don't know what does. It's like talking to the wall sometimes.

What I am saying is the politicians who support civilians should not own guns themselves either own one or have armed body guards around them.

Take the guns away from Bloomberg's security staff and replace them with tazors and see how he likes that one.

My original question on here was; "Did banning guns on school property (that includes school staff) prevent this massacre?"

I never said having a gun would prevent it, I asked if banning all guns on that school property aka gun free zone, prevented that massacre.

No banning guns did not prevent that massacre. If someone wants to do something bad enough they will find a way - and they won't necessarily use guns. I don't even think the issue is about guns or lack of gun control.

I should add: I don't think allowing guns on the property would have prevented that massacre either.

So we need to wait for an armed teacher to snap and to kill all the children in his classroom to realize that any loaded gun near children is not such a good idea?

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

Why wouldn't the teacher just bring one from home?

Please tell us how well those unarmed teachers did the other day in their "gun free zone"? I'm dying to hear this one.

It might not have prevented the crime from taking place, but certainly there would've been less people killed. The average number of people shot to death in mass shootings when people who are not allowed to carry guns have to call people with guns to come save them is in the teens. The average number of people killed when a citizen with a gun stops the rampage is two.

Here's an example of what happens when someone with a gun encounters a shooter at school -

How many teachers have snapped and killed kids? Are they not killing them because the policy of no guns or are they not killing them because, maybe, teachers don't snap and kill kids?

In other words, is it the signs that are saving these kids?

I don't know. But this teacher would not seem like a good candidate to pack heat.
