Ok I know I probably shouldn't worry but I can't help but worry a little bit that something has happened to set us back... the USCIS website says that on July 11th our case was forwarded to the NVC for visa processing. And then we got the hard copy on the 26th or 27th.

Should I have heard from the embassy in London already? Is that the letter that will inform me of my interview date or is there more paperwork for me to do first?

And when should my fiancé submit his affidavit of support? Does he have to send that to me to take to my interview?

Sorry for all the questions! Just want to make sure I'm understanding everything right!

Hi -

The next thing you'd want to do is call DOS or the NVC for your case number and ask what the status is...once you have the case number, you can also check the status here (make sure it's on Immigrant visa):

https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx

If it says In Transit, it's on its way to London..if it says Ready, that means London has it and is awaiting entry in their system (I think they have the electronic file but need to log in physical file).

Once they do that they will mail the beneficiary a letter which is technically Packet 3, telling them where to go on the internet and download the forms and send those in. They will also tell them to book their medical. Once they have their medical date, when they are a few days away from the medical date, they should mail in there cover letter with the final form (DS2001) where you can include a wedding date if you have one.

once they have all those forms and the medical results (which are sent over to the embassy a few days after the medical), they will send them a letter with an interview date.

They hold the Affidavit of support with accompanying documentation until the interview..they will definitely need that so you want to bring more than one copy..

No problem for the questions - most of us have had a ton ourselves. smile.png I strongly suggest you visit the UK forum - tons of info there especially in these threads:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/8321-london-medical-knightsbridge-doctors/

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/99-united-kingdom/

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/350185-london-2012-k1s-from-noa2-to-interview-thread/

good luck smile.png

Just wanted to add - how I stated things above is how London prefers things to work..but some people (including me) have gone out of order with how things were sent or when we booked medical etc to get a jump on things because we were trying to meet an agressive wedding date because my dad is ill. Just wanted to add that in :)

Thank you SO much, I'm now reading through all these links you sent :D

One thing I haven't found an answer to yet is regarding the medical... do I need to wait until I get my letter to book the medical, or can I do that now that I have our case number?

I-229f petition sent: January 11th 2013

Visa in hand: 16th October

Fly to America! Saturday 19th October! :D

Adjustment of Status:

I-485 filed: January 24th 2014

Notice of Potential Interview Waiver letter received: May 15th

you're welcome - the UK forum is awesome :)

no need to wait...you can book your medical as soon as you have your LND number - it has been taking about 10-14 days to get an appointment...you do want to figure in your timing that if you don't have an aggressive wedding date, it may be better to make sure at least that packet 3 has been sent out so you know you are in their system and when the medical results arrive a few days later, they are not lost. It took a few days for them to mail the Packet 3 letter from when it showed Ready on the DOS site...we still haven't received the letter though and it's been a week. good luck :)

Feel like the only January filer left out. Praying that this month is our turn. Im officially depressed from all this. My doctor has me seeing a psychologist weekly....I didn't think falling in love over seas would affect me so much and bring me to this state of mind. Sometimes I just feel like moving to his country as hard as life would be. At least I'd be happy

Sorry it's taking so long for your approval..I'm sure it doesn't help to see people with March, April, etc starting to get approved. This process beats us all down on some days...for the simple thing of just wanting to get married to someone we love. As someone at my work said to me the to other day, "it's stinks because I can just go out at lunch time and get married to another American yet the wait is so long for you"...it's tough but hang in there - it will be worth it in the end. :)

Hello January 2013 filers! I am a May 2013 filer, and just recently received a RFE. We submitted the items requested to our lawyer, which she presumably overnighted to the CSC. I am wondering this: any January 2013 filers who had RFEs? If so, how long until the service center acknowledge they received the evidence? How long after receiving, did you receive your NOA2s?

I am hoping the wait isn't too long, though I know there is still a wait/process even after getting NOA2.

Applied for Naturalization based on 3-year Residency

July 05, 2017 (Day 00) -  Submitted N400 Application, filed via USPS to Phoenix Lockbox

July 10, 2017 (Day 05) - NOA received

July 12, 2017 (Day 07) -  Check is cashed by USCIS

July 19, 2017 (Day 14) - Biometrics appointment letter mailed

August 02, 2017 (Day 28) - Biometrics appointment at Seattle Field Office

August 28, 2017 (Day 54) - Case is "in line" for an interview"

August 28, 2018 (Day 419) - Interview is scheduled

October 4, 2018 (Day 462) - Citizenship Interview AND Oath (offered same day oath by ISO in Seattle, WA)

Hi... I had received a RFE on 2013-07-02 in main & Hard copy recd 2013-07-08. I sent reply on 2013-07-16, TSC recd & acknowledged on 2013-07-23. After that I got my NOA2 on 2013-07-30. It differs from case to case. But after sending it to the service center, it shouldn't take more than a week or two at least to acknowledge.

I received an email from uscis . It was a sort of receipt . I had called to ask for a re send of my RFE on Aug. 2 . Nothing changed so I called again Aug.15. I was told to wait for it until the 19th and call if nothing by then.

Anyway, my question is the following:

The mailing address for all my important letters is different from my address. Does this matter ? Could it be why I haven't received it yet after over a month ?

I have received letters from them before at the mailing address. This is the only letter that seems to keep getting lost

Hmm, maybe they're sending it to the address instead of the mailing address? Can you receive mail at both addresses? Seems weird that you haven't gotten anything again. Sucks that they can't just tell you what they want or send a letter in an email.
