I called today and spoke to a tier 2 guy. I actually originally called on Friday and was put through to wait for a tier 2, being assured that someone would speak to me before 6pm when the service center closed, which didn't happen (I waited over an hour and was still on hold at 6:30!)

Anyway, I was put straight through to a tier 2 today after pointing this out. The man on the phone was absolutely the most typical government employee you could possibly imagine. He repeatedly gave me the 'October 15th' date and projected another 3-4 month wait for me (my NOA date is January 30th and I haven't been transferred). He absolutely stonewalled every question and just reiterated that there was a delay and they'd get to me when it was my turn in line.

It was absurd. Thankfully our congressman has put a caseworker onto our case and she's going to get in touch. I'm so frantic about this. I'm starting to consider filing for an expedite since my fiance will have to renew, then break, a lease if I'm not able to get there by September.

Hmm i dont see why that would be a problem, you should be able to have more than one person as access to the case especially as it is a visa for couples. Remember you can go to https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard/CaseStatus.do and enter your case number to check it

hi azsara - :) I do check that link regularly without a registered account. I was just interested in signing up for the alerts, etc but when I went to click on it it says duplicate accounts will be deleted, you can only register once. So I wasn't sure if me and my attorney counted as two or if they are separate even though it's the same case number. I wrote to the attorney yesterday and he usually gets right back to me but haven't heard from him yet - maybe he was away or in court or something. :)

were you transferred bricklane? hopefully you will get some answers from the congressmen.

do you know the info about expediting? i had heard you couldn't expedite this type of request but the have seen where exceptions are made?

There are people at VSC being approved from march and february and yes most of us Jan filiers are still waiting! Hopefully with the updated processing time there will be more of us approved shortly!!! I hope this means they're catching up on the back-log of petitions that were filed.
