We finally heard back, we received an RFE. Any of you been through that?

Our application was received January 8th, and I just got notification that an RFE was sent on May 29th. I'm currently in China, so I have to wait for it to arrive at my mother's home in the US then she'll scan it to let me know what evidence is needed.

I'm really freaking out about this, because I have no idea what they're looking for.

2013.1.7- I-129f mailed to Texas Lockbox (with correct fee this time--> Delivered 2013.1.8 (priority date)

2013.5.29- RFE mailed--> 2013.6.3 RFE arrives --> 2013.7.3 Forms mailed back to CIS via DHL--> 2013.7.5 CSC confirms receipt of evidence

2013.7.26- I129f approved! --> 2013.8.16- NVC confirms receipt of petition

2013.8.30- P3 arrives at fiancee's home --> 2013.9.8 P3 documents mailed to GUZ

2013.9.20- P4 email arrives

2013.10.25- Medical exam; 2013.10.28- Interview--> APPROVED!

2014.2.20- POE!; 2014.2.21- reunited in my hometown :)

Long time reader, first time posting in this topic! I wanted to let you guys know that you gave me hope since I read that January was being processed several weeks ago. I wanted to inform anybody who was interested, I am an early January filer, noa on 1/10/2013 and I got approved tonight (5/28/2013)! I'm very excited because the wait has been extremely stressful hahaha.

I also want to add that I did not receive any RFE's! Thank you visajourney for making my journey possible smile.png

I am so happy to hear of your approval! Congratulations, may the rest of your journey be short and sweet!

That's what I was thinking! But they're pretty much just as useless as the people at the main centers. My fiance and I went to the one here in Houston for information (NOT on the website) before filing and when we got up to the window after waiting an hour, they looked at us blankly and told us all of the information is on the website. Sigh.

I'm going to call the local office either tomorrow or Monday to find out what's going on or if they have received my file.

Ok so this is weird. ... like a lot of us who got the email/text yesterday about our cases being send to our "local" USCIS Office for further information, I just now called the 800 number to found out about which local office my case was send to (Charlotte or Raleigh) and I was very surprised to find out that my case was transferred to VERMONT !!! I got this information on the automated system. I'm very confused. =(

What do you guys think about this? And maybe you guys wanna do the same thing and check about your case over the phone.

Hmm, my status now says the following:

The I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

This is a bit different message than it said before. No mention about a transfer to a "local office" or the date of the transfer. Hope "now being processed" means that they're actually processing it, and it's not just lying in a corner somewhere. Calling the 800 number, the automated case status message also says pretty much exactly the same thing, no mention of where it's being processed.
