It's not just federal law though, the receipt numbers involve two people from X number of countries; and I know for a fact that something like that would be covered under the UK's data protection act. Even reference numbers to appointments are considered private information under Data Protection here, as I work with it and have had to study that as we're regulated with the Financial Services Authority. When you write to a congressional representative/Senator, a lot send a reply back asking for written permission from both parties to access information about your case, or at the bare minimum, the written/signed permission of the USC. Both of ours did. Because it -is- confidential.

Also, aj - I don't really care either way, Tyler's data doesn't effect me. I just want fairness and the same information available for Vermont filers if they want it, which I stated in my original post; despite the fact I have said before that I don't believe any data should be published on here. VJ staff have said they don't want this stuff published, so no, the solution isn't to unsubscribe. Anyone who wants to be on VJ for the support and help it provides should be able to, and if anyone doesn't like how VJ staff run it or the rules they make for their own website, perhaps they should consider going elsewhere.

To Durden - Looking at those links you sent, it does seem VJ would not be responsible if anything got out; though I imagine they would not want the controversy or drama that may come from it if it did.

One word… jurisdiction
You are involved in the US immigration process. How that data is handled falls under US jurisdiction and is recognized as part of the sovereignty rights of the US under international law.
This is why china cannot stop US websites from posting news and information they do not like. They CAN censor it within their country but not in other countries.
This is why even though the Philippines has a law against match making services, dating sites operated outside of the Philippines are allowed.
This is why it is legal to behead criminals or mutilate girls with a practice called female circumcision in some countries even though it is a practice condemned by most countries and the UN.
And yes I agree… The only reason that makes sense for the censorship is the controversy and complaints from a vocal minority.
It’s their site and we agree that they have every right to, and as a result we willingly comply and do not post links to the data. Ask Captain Ewok, we told him we would comply and never once broke our word, we did so out of choice and were not threatened with any punishment, and were thanked for our understanding of his situation. We are sure he realized that we do not see him or VJ as our opposition.
Ewok said publicly that he would not censor the tidbits of info we provide, and we provide no more and no less. We don’t post any links to the data. We don’t post links to our video message to USCIS. We follow the rules. UNLIKE other Anon branches we have operated within the rules of the system we hope to improve.
But that does not mean we have to agree or pretend that we do. It does not mean that we have to be any less vocal than those who oppose the data. We do not need to coddle those who would embrace ignorance out of fear.

You're missing my point again. I meant drama from USCIS if they see this stuff posted on here. VJ has actually taken many more complaints/caused controversy by censoring your information to begin with, as there were a lot more people who wanted the information than didn't. So that reasoning on your part makes no sense at all.

Also, you didn't refer to the fact that Senators and congressmen need written, signed consent to access the same information you've gathered.

Also Tyler, I would like to again point out that I have nothing against you. I am simply very reserved when it comes to public sharing of information that is intended for two parties only and believe it to be sensitive information (I know for certain it would be here), and especially when that information is shared from under the Anonymous umbrella. I do believe you set out to do it for the right reasons and wanted to help CSC when it was at its worst. My opinion is also strengthened by the fact that in response from our Senator and congressman, we recieved a form requiring written consent before they could access any of our private information with USCIS. You seem like a decent person and I understand your saying that not all branches of Anonymous are the same. I can believe this as my ex used to browse /b/ on 4chan a lot years ago and I know what chaos it can be and where it came from.

A member of congress needs consent to act on your behalf and to access details about your case that we do not have or provide.
The information we provide is required to be made available not only to individuals but to the public and is done so not only on the USCIS site but as a part of the freedom of information act and part of a required annual report.
USCIS is required by law to provide the information we do. They simply do it at the minimum level required. A level that is intentionally kept unusable.
USCIS is aware of our actions and that we operate within the law. We are barely even an embarrassment to them. USCIS does not care. VJ is only 7% of all K1 petitions, and all K1 petitions make up about 2% of the volume of USCIS workload. To put that in perspective. VJ is 0.14% of USCIS workload at most, less than 1%.
The fear of USCIS is over blown. The ONLY people who have any reason to fear anything is us, not for legal reasons but because it is possible that if they knew who we were that someone may feel personally justified in crippling our petitions for providing the information. Honestly that fear is probably even over blown.

Congrats! and yeah I am sure this time you have everything they need. So happy for you both! Keep us all updated :)

Got my hard copy RFE today! They were unclear in the original I-129F about meetings so I explained each meeting for the previous 2 years. They wanted an explaination of how we met in the first place and how we bagan the relationship. Easy-Peasy!

The next thing they needed was more on proof of meeting. We supplied pictures, itineraries and flight receipts the first time. We are adding a complete log of copies of his passport stamps, credit card statements with highlighting of dates/places his card was used where I live and ATM withdrawl receipts sent from his bank. I think we'll have all we need now and I'm glad we have more to give them! I panic-posted for help tongue.png You guys are AWESOME! Glad to have this site for sure!

EDIT: Just in case anyone is panicked over an RFE like we were smile.png

I'm just curious. What kind of private information you don't want to share with public? That you applied for K1 Visa? That you have USCIS case number? We are on the public forum and everyone posts the dates when petition was submitted, NOA1 dates and the rest.

Everyone in the world can go to USCIS site and see that some cases was approved and some still in the process ( no names seen!!!)

Maybe I'm missing something. Sorry.

i would be glad whether it was VSC or CSC data. BUT at the same time, i would be sad because VJ don't allow to post everything about the data. If VJ would only allow to have the data posted, then everybody will be happy (except those who can't appreciate it).

It would be helpful to everyone if we really see the real picture... with graphs, etc.... that gives us a clearer picture of what is going on with the two service centers. At the same time, petitioners/beneficiaries can use the data to present it to their representatives. giving the right figures, etc...

Tyler had mentioned it already that he has the CSC and he was getting the VSC data already.

The problem is, VJ forbidden to post the data, external link to that data, etc.... so, how can we all see what's the real picture of these two service centers?

Even just providing data for one service center is not enough, because Tyler is only posting tidbits of that data...

this is just my opinion though.. what about the others? lol.

I believed that having the full data would be beneficial esp to those who have representatives so they can provide the right figures.

Having just the partial is fine.. better than nothing though.. but it would be better if we can do something with the data than just staring at it...
