Timeline

I'm optimistically estimating that we will receive our NOA2 from CSC in mid to late June, rather than the August to September estimate calculated by VJ on my timeline. We received out NOA1 on Jan 22. My estimate is based on the assumption that 15 VJ petitions will be approved per day on average at CSC (that's the optimistic part - we had an average better than that last week... will it continue for the next 2 months?), and that VJ petitions will continue at the present percentage of total K1 petitions filed. We are currently number 598 in line at CSC on Igor's list. So here's my simple calculation:

Today's Date: Sunday, April 22, 2013

Our Number 598

Assumed VJ Approvals per Day 15

Number of Days Required to Get to Our Number 39.86666667

Approval Days per Week 5

Number of Weeks Required to Get to Our Number 7.973333333

Estimated Approval Date Sunday, June 16, 2013

Obviously our NOA2 date won't come on a Sunday - but I'd settle for Monday, June 17 in a heartbeat :) . I realize that newcomers who have already filed petitions and received NOA1 prior to January join VJ on a regular basis. But even if you factor in an additional hundred new VJers with an earlier NOA1 date, the estimated approval date only increases to Wednesday, June 26, 2013.

So, bottom line, if CSC continues to process at a reasonable rate, I think we are on track to receive our NOA2's within roughly 5 months of the date of our NOA1's. Or am I being too simplistic and optimistic???

It must be a female thing! I am on here all the time, but Bry rarely asks what I´ve found out or if there are any news!

He has what I call the "buddhist approach": NOA2 comes when it comes, it is what it is

On April 19th user Alema_2011 claimed twice that they were January 2013 filers and had been approved on April 19th. However that user has no timeline so I am a little suspicious that either they were joking or they were January 2012 filers. But there have been a few late December approvals so we may see a few coming through now and then. Everyone assumes this is a first-come, first-served process but it appears to in reality be a bit more of a bell curve with a few lucky people being approved earlier than expected and a few unlucky ones being approved later than expected.

Someone else claimed that according to Sen Boxer's office the CSC expects to process all filers before September by the end of April (seems optimistic I know) and all Sept/Oct filers by the end of May. With a good percentage of November and December already processed that means January petitions will likely be approved in late June or thereabouts. Nerve-wracking I know but that would be 6 months for us and at this point I can live with that.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/425840-info-from-sen-boxers-office-on-k-1s/

Unfortunately the approvals of these December filers got January filers´ hopes up. Mine too, since I didn´t see too many January WAC numbers before mine on the USCIS site. So that means as soon as they start working on January, I should be up next.

But now they´ve returned to working on the old 2012 cases, which I think is absolutely fine since it is only fair.

People get kind of greedy and want their NOA2 NOW although some are only February filers and have only waited 2 months. I want to be with my fiance too, badly!

But I think we have to be a little more humble and realistic, and like you, I´d be superhappy to get mine in late June/July, which would make it 5.5 /6 months.

That is far sooner than what I expected up until CSC started cranking them out like they did last week.

Let´s just be happy and excited that they are indeed working their butts off and let´s hope they continue that way!

All I can add to this is I pray nobody has to be delayed in the way some of us have been. I can not tell you the pain that it causes to have to wait beyond eight months when I initially expected a 5 month wait.

I do not mind when you filed, I just pray that every single person gets processed in a TIMELY manner and CSC never comes to a halt like it did again.

Exactly! No one should have to wait 7, 8 months+.

You guys have been so patient and your relationships must be very strong to have endured this ongoing state of uncertainty.

For a long time, it was completely unknown when they would start working on K1s in larger amounts again. It could have gone on and on like this.

And now they are! Don´t you stop, CSC!

I hope CSC will never let this backlog and lethargy of the past 8 months happen again!

It is really hard and frustrating.... Just thinking what if we will also have to wait more than 5 months at CSC... I really pray that they will start on 2013 applications soon, and not let us wait. Those who filed in beginning of January are reaching their 5th month (which originally was supposed to be a MAXIMUM processing time), but I still havent seen anyone being processed. Im afraid they wont start on us before everyone from 2012 has been adjucated....

So when people say, "you will just have to wait for your turn in the line, its only fair that people before you get processed first"... Well, I already waited 8 months before I could FILE the petition (first had to become citizen) and now God knows how long the process will be.......... Just sayin', living like this for one year now is hard... :clock::cry:

Not surprised really as early to mid Jan filers like us have only recently gone over the 3 month mark so I'm not surprised we've not been processed....

No January filer will reach the 5 month mark until early June so we have a way to go yet.
