Because those are brown people. Nobody cares about them. We won't change our gun laws until enough white people get killed.

Prior to '94 they were. How many school shootings were there?

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Who are brown people? The 10K+ annual victims of gun nuttery? They're all brown people? Really? I thought those were Americans that are being killed by other Americans. That seems to be the killing we easily accept as natural occurrences, collateral damage or unavoidable side-effects of the gun nuttery that we have going on.

544 people died in Chicago last year ...in a "gun free zone" and most all of the victims and shooters were not Caucasian. Where are those threads?

These deaths are a result of the same insanity. You can ban guns in a city all you want. Means little when they are readily available to ever sick and otherwise unfit person outside of that city.

I see nothing but white children's faces amongst the slaughtered in Newtown CT. But you've already stated in another thread that you don't care about them. Your guns mean more to you.

I went to check and see about the 1994 comment...and was distracted. Apparently school shootings date way back, check this one out:

November 2, 1853: Louisville, Kentucky A student, Matthew Ward, bought a self-cocking pistol in the morning, went to school and killed schoolmaster Mr. Butler for excessively punishing his brother the day before. Even though he shot the schoolmaster point blank in front of his classmates, he was acquitted

What does Slim's guns have to do with some whacked out over medicated kid with his mom's guns going nut in a school?

That's not even the point. In the 1850s, there would have been no restriction to carry guns into schools. As gun nuts would have us believe, shootings don't happen in a school full of guns.

I'm sure it was at epidemic levels back then. Funny thing is when I was a kid there were zero restrictions. I could ride my bike to the feed store and purchase any amount of guns and ammo I could afford. I can't think of one kid I grew up with that didn't have a gun or two under his bed or in his closet yet I don't recall any of us shooting people up. Of course we didn't have enough yuppie parents sticking their kids on meds back then either, and beating your kids when they messed up was nothing out of the norm.

This was the same period of time when you might get shot just for snoring.

Hardin and several of his fellow cow herders had put up for the night at the "American House Hotel". Sometime during the evening, Hardin, and at least one other cow hand, began firing bullets through the bedroom wall and ceiling, in an attempt to stop the snoring which was coming from the next room. A sleeping stranger, Charles Cougar, was killed.

I was told just a few posts back that no such thing ever happened prior to 1994. Obviously, that is a false claim.

Still waiting for proof that schools weren't gun free zones prior to 1994.

These are the good ole days some seems to be longing for. It's not so much the snoring these days perhaps. But state protected loud music coming from a car will do. Whatever gives a reason to satisfy the thirst for blood, I guess.

I'm still waiting to see where these mass shootings happened. No proof as of yet. One story from the 1800s about a kid who shot a teacher because the teacher beat his brother. And.... what else?

Anyone?

.... anyone?
