Hi all

In preperation of my AOS and SSN i want to know if my old SSN is still valid?

I lived in the US as a minor on my fathers work visa when I was 15-16. I was issued a SSN. I still have the number and have listed it on my forms for the K1 process.

Will I still need to get a new one?

Has anyone come accross this before?

It's still your number and will always be your number. You don't need to get a new one.

Once assigned a number it is your number for life, it never changes.

as other posters noted, its yours to keep. i had one previously as well, from college. after AOS was approved, i got it changed to reflect my change in status and my married name.

Note: the number stays the same only the wording on the card changes to reflect the change in immigration status.
