That's true: if we had no guns, people could not shoot other people with a gun.

Unfortunately, like the 14th Amendment -- which many people would like to amend -- the 2nd Amendment -- which also many people would like to amend -- is firmly anchored in the supreme law of the land, and with a large amount of gun owners who like their guns, there is just no way to take away their constitutional right to own guns. But gun ownership can be regulated, and it should.

I would propose a package deal: the commies want to take away our guns, and the Nazis want to end birthright citizenship. Why not making a package deal and amend both Amendments out of their existence? An eye for an eye . . .

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

The Nazi's along with the Commies were all for gun control and how did that one work out?

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Somalia. A true paradise for gun nuts. No regulations, unfettered acess to unlimited firepower. RPGs and all.

I bet there's way more guns here than in Somalia!

I carry a gun because a cop is too heavy.

Folks in Somalia are a bit short on cash. That explains some of the discrepancy. Most people there are saner than the gun nuts here, too. That accounts for a bit of that difference as well, I suspect.

If a Somalian has a choice between feeding his family and shooting at targets he'd probably go with the food.

I'm not so sure about some Americans.

We combine guns and food up in these parts.

They are arms that one can bear. Scalia would see them protected under the second amendment.

it's not a firearm.
