Concealed Carry permit holders live in a dream world

The controlled study documented in these videos show that concealed carry permit holders are fooling themselves if they think they will be able to react effectively to armed aggressors. Most CCW holders won't even be able to un-holster their gun. They will more likely be killed themselves or kill innocent bystanders than stop the aggressor.

For more details, see "Unintended Consequences: Pro-Handgun Experts Prove That Handguns Are a Dangerous Choice for Self-Defense." http://www.vpc.org/s...es/unincont.htm.

CCW permit holders don't protect innocent people. They kill them.

Many people would freeze or run when it came down to them or the aggresser. Some of the biggest toughest people cower in war. You can train all day to shoot and holster your weapon, but shooting at a target and hitting it 25 meters away during a fight or flight response is a completely different story.

CCW is a new phenomenon in most of the country. it needs time to mature.

that being said, i have carried a firearm in a variety of roles for more than 30 years, and have more than 200,000 rounds fired in training, exercise, recreation, and experimentation, on more than 200 different firearms platforms, and personally know dozens of equally experienced guys in my immediate vicinity.

wanna try me?

Funny, no mention of kills. How many kills do you have and in what situations?

This is a bit harsh, but to the point and I'm posting it here because it is relevant to the discussion of gun safety vs. the right of self defense. Those two ideas are not mutually exclusive. We can have laws that make gun ownership safer without compromising people's right to defend themselves.

True. But ignore the source, and the statement is still pretty accurate.

Everyone would love to believe that simply being a responsible gun owner is enough to stop these things from happening to you or your family. And it isn't. This woman LOVED guns, and having them in the house didn't protect her when it came down to it.

True, it takes time to pull the gun out of the holster.

That's why I like to carry a stiletto at my wrist.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
