Hey guys, this is for my DR crew:

It's been a while! Hope all is well with everyone. Hubby has been here for 7 months and things are really good. Can't complain.

Now the main reason for this post is that we are looking to renew our vows within 1 year or so and I am getting a bit anxious about the planning. I was wondering if anyone knew of any good/reliable/reasonably priced wedding planners in the Santo Domingo area. Or of any hotels in the Santo Domingo area that offers good packages with a wedding planner included.

Ideally I want to do this close to the ocean, outdoors but I am open-minded at this point because I realize we need to stay in or near the capital area for our guests' convinience. If I had it my way I would do it in Punta Cana, but I have to be realistic.

Anyway, I am a bit overwhelmed about it all and I think some guidance from a wedding planner or advice would help. I really need to get with it if I want this to happen within a year or so.

Please feel free to share your wedding experiences!

P.S. When we were married a year ago, we decided to not have a ceremony or party in order to have our "dream wedding" in a few years. So even though this is a vow renewal, it's also a late wedding celebration.

Thanks!

Hello Stephanie! I don't know of any wedding planners in dr, however, while i have been looking into having a future wedding in DR as well, i looked into the resorts close to the capital. I believe the ones closest to the capital is Juan Dolio. It is about 45 mins from the capital and there are many resorts to choose from there. Each resort is sort of like a wedding planner. They prepare everything for you. Each resort has its own wedding packages that include many many things. How i found out about the wedding packages was i googled resorts in juan dolio dominican republic. For each site, it goes into details as far as pricing goes and what is included in the package.

Hope this helps!

P.S. my dream wedding would also be far from the capital. It would be in La Romana en Los Altos De Chavon. It is an amazing place to have a wedding with a Cathedral and everything. I once attended a wedding there and i fell i love <3

Steph, if you really want to do Punta Cana, I can let me sister-in-law know. She is a manager at Iberostar in Bavaro. I can get a wedding package quote for you. Let me know.

There are a few resorts in Boca Chica and that is about 30 mins from the capital, the Hamaca is located on the Beach, Dominican Bay is across the bridge from the beach, and then there is Don Juan which is right off the beach as well. There are also some hotels on the Malecon like Melia (not a resort like in Punta Cana) They should have wedding planners even though they are not resorts. They aren't on the beach but there are some beautiful views available on the Malecon for the ceremony that the wedding planner should be aware of.

Thank you all! I have been slowly looking and googling and I think I MAY have found a wedding planner. Not sure about a place yet though, it's gonna take some time.

MrTee, thanks for that! That would be my dream but I don't want to make it hard for my guests to attend. If I change my mind I will hit you up for sure.
