Me and my g/f decided we'll marry in March or April and do the K-3 instead of going the K-1 route. She doesn't have a passport yet? Should she go for her passport now or wait until we're married. We're afraid that if we wait until we're married, she won't get her passport in time for the interview. I really don't know how long the the application process for a passport is in Guyana. Does it matter that her maiden will be on the passport or does it have to be her married name? Thanks for the help.

There's probably a website with information about Guyanan passports, have a look at that at how long processing is and what the rules are about changing the name on it.

If you're going to get married first, then petition for K3 and/or CR1, she'll probably have plenty of time to apply for a passport directly after you get married. I can't see it taking 6 months or more for a passport, but it will for the visa.

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME OR EMAIL ME. I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT CURRENT US IMMIGRATION PROCEDURES!!!!!
