@Magmay06 - Ok, cool...

Once the I-130 is approved, what should I start to prepare? do I need to have Police Clearance Certificate or NBI Clearance for my son? he's 3 years old. And what else please...regarding the tax, I guess SerenityNOW is right that my son would be qualified for the I-864W. Any info would be pretty much appreciated, thanks.

He doesn't NBI or Police Clearance.

Next documents your son will mail in to NVC is his original NSO birth certificate, a photocopy of his Philippine passport's bio page, visa photos and the DS-230 form.

Your questions suggest it would be helpful for you to read the l-130 NVC guides.

The guide lays out clearly the next steps of the process. After reading, if you have any specific question then you ask.

PS: sorry can't pull link for you because I'm typing from phone.

Thanks but anyone who been through to this process, please share your experience. I am a U.S. citizen petitioning my 3 yrs old son. I wonder what are the documents needed to be submitted at NVC aside from original NSO birth certificate, photocopy of Philippine's passport, visa photos and DS-230. What about the choice of agent, DS-3032? I also heard my son would be qualified for Affidavit of Support Waiver as he will be acquiring U.S. citizenship upon entering in U.S. for what they called Child Citizenship Act of 2000. Thanks

Check out the wiki page for IR-2 and CR-2 visas. It is far from complete, but includes everything I know to date about this process. Check out USCIS Step 3. Check out the link for county-specific document requirements.

Also the first post of this NVC filers thread. (This one is from January but it is the same every month). You can prepare yourself by reading all the FAQs that are there.

You will send three different documents. First you have to get your NVC case number and Invoice Identification Number by calling NVC (ours took about a month after I-130 approval). Then you can file Document #1.

1) DS-3032/choice of agent - from you, signing for your child (or try e-mailing, links to that process in the above two sources) and designating you as the agent, I assume.

After the choice of agent is accepted, you will be able to pay the two fees ($88 for the Affidavit of Support, yes, I think we have to pay it even though we are filing a waiver, and $230 for the IV fee). You will be invoiced through a payment portal that becomes available for payment... see the links above. After the payments are accepted, you will be able to print a cover letter, an official one with a BAR CODE on it that is used to identify your case, and then you send off documents #2 and #3, which are separate but some people send them together as they go to the same place:

2) I-864W, signed by you since your child is less than 14. No supporting documents required.

3) DS-230 signed by you for your child, with supporting documents, which would only be: original/certified copy of birth certificate, photocopy of the bio page of passport, two passport photos

No police report since the child is less than 16

Supposedly translations are not required if the documents are in the language of the country where the interview will take place, but I'm not taking any chances with that and we are including translations.

I'm not sure how you sign the documents - your son's name, then in parenthesis your name as in "(signed by <YOUR NAME> for <YOUR SON'S NAME>)" maybe?

That's all I know for now -

@SerenityNOW - I have paid the AOS and sent an email for the Choice of Agent (no response yet). Regarding the I-864W, how did you send yours? On part 1 and part 3, should I write down my name on there or my son's name? When sending this form, should I just send two papers together with the bar code cover sheet from the website to:

National Visa Center

Attn. CMR AOS

31 Rochester Avenue Suite 100

Portsmouth, NH 03801-2914

or should I send it together with the 3rd docments you posted on thread #69?

I really appreciate your help

We have our forms ready to go but haven't sent them yet (we are delaying our progress to attempt to get a later interview date, June hopefully). I don't know the answers to all your questions, but here is how I interpreted the instructions:

For the entire form, it is for the INTENDING IMMIGRANT, so put his name/address/DOB etc.

When signing, it says right on the form that the U.S. Citizen parent signs if the child is less than 14 years old. (also this information is in Post #69)

As far as I know, there are no supporting documents required. I don't see any mentioned in the instructions.

The documents in post #69 are for when you send the DS-230.

You can send the DS-230 package and the I-864W package together (once you pay the IV bill) if you want, since they go to the same place, but you need to include the two separate cover sheets and make sure the right papers are in the right stack. But you do NOT have to wait to send them together, most people send them separately.

I'm also wondering how my son is going to get a U.S. passport once it is approved as they'll be automatically be U.S. citizen, do you have any idea how to get their passport?

Once he arrives in the USA, you can apply for a passport for him from any passport office and most post offices.

Aren't they supposed to send me instructions on which forms they would need? I haven't receive any instructions from them by mail or email.

I don't know what information they actually send. The guides here and the experiences posted by others going through the process are comprehensive, so I have relied on that. Plus everything is online on their website: HERE is all the information direct from the Department of State about what documents to include with the form (Page 3 has the document requirements and Page 4 has the pull-down menu to get the specific requirements for each country - for example, Bulgaria has a specific document required and translations are required... so check for Philippines).
