I would like to bring my son to U.S. but I only been here for 9 months and working for 8 months. I don't have anything to show for income tax as it is process annually but I'm living with my parents and they're willing to be a co-sponsor. Would it be possible for me to petition my son in this case? I'm a U.S. citizen already and my son is born out of wedlock.

When filing the form I-130, what are the other requirements aside the fees that has to be sent together with the form I-130? ( assuming you don't send your affidavit of support yet together with it, do you? )

How much money do you need as an assets to support for petitioning your son including the sponsor and how would you know it is enough already?

And what do you guys mean when you call the package form I-130? package 4, etc...

any comments would be pretty much appreciated...

thanks

If this is your biological son, you don't need to file a petition for him. What you need to do is file a CRBA (Certificate of Registration of Birth Abroad) of a child born and fathered by you, a US Citizen. You can apply for a US passport at the same time for him and once issued, he can travel to the US either with you if he's not old enough to travel, or by himself if old enough.

Ok thanks guys, how much money do you need as an assets to support for petitioning your son including the sponsor and how would you know it is enough already?

And will I be able to petition my son if I only been working for 8 months but I have co-sponsor, which can only be one person to co-sponsor, is that right?

I don't think my son would be qualified for CRBA cause I didn't have a U.S. passport by the time he was born yet.

will I be able to petition my son if I just work for 8 months but I have a co-sponsor?

Yes you can petition your son.

Here's the Poverty Guideline that your co-sponsor must meet: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-864p.pdf

thank you...does anybody here would like to confirm this? I don't have any income tax return yet but I got all the paystubs for the months that I worked...and how many co-sponsor do I need or can I have in this matter?

You don't need your income tax return yet when you file for your son's petition. It takes a few months for the petition to be approved & by then you would have been able to file for your income tax. Your sponsorship documents will be needed after the approval. So don't worry about it as of now. If you don't make enough or doesn't meet the poverty guideline then you need a co-sponsor.

I understand. On my side, I just want to know the process before proceeding. I was wondering how much money do I need in the bank or do I even *have to* show it? or the income tax return itself for both I and the co-sponsor is enough? and how many co-sponsor can you have? thanks...
