Comical how the gun nuts think the solution to the problem is more guns. Let's just arm everyone and go back to the days of the wild west where people would shoot each other at the drop of a hat. We can all go to the saloon, have a few shots of whiskey and challenge each other to a duel because you made fun of my horse. Better yet, let's just give everyone Bushmaster .223's and let the games begin. I bet if those 6 year old kids in Newtown were armed and trained to use assault weapons this crisis would have been diverted. I blame the parents for not arming their kids.

Actually funny thing - even in the old West, they knew that guns were the problem. Gun laws in the late 19th century were stricter than modern times.

In the old frontier towns like Dodge and Tombstone, they first prohibited concealed carry to cut down on gun violence. Then, by the 1880's, they made people give up there guns when they got to town. They had to check them in with the sheriff and got them back when they left town.

Yep, even in the wild, wild west, the gun nuts weren't quite as stone cold crazy as they are right now.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

What next, are all students to be issued flax jackets upon enrollment? What gets me is how some of the people complaining about wasteful government spending see no problem with the idea of hiring extra armed security guards :bonk:

Since when did anyone on this board say that having armed security at schools was wasteful spending? I'm sure you have a link.

Nope. Back then, they addressed gun violence because they saw first hand how completely stupid it is for everyone to be walking around carrying guns. Give them credit man. They didn't need to wait for sick freaks to start killing 6 year olds before they started doing something about it.
