You were doing better until you posted that. You can fit five or more Scotlands inside of Alaska. Alaska is the most remote area of North America. Most villages here have no food stores...and as far as Super market? HA HA

I can't even purchase a loaf of bread atm because the store here has no bread until the weather breaks and the planes can start getting in here. When I can purchase bread it cost me $6 or more for a loaf. I pay well over $10 for a gallon of milk...yet we have no milk on the store shelf atm. To purchase a pound of hamburger I'm looking at right around $8 hence the reason my chest freezer is full of moose meat and salmon. If it weren't for subsistence hunting and fishing many people in this state would starve to death.

Let me know the next time you drive on a freeway to a village out here. Make sure you have a translator with you seeing how some of these Eskimo villages have a rough time speaking English as it is their second language.

You should move.

You should move.

This summer we move to Big Lake (Alaska). Walmart ftw. But no, I'm not giving up my guns because some suburbanites that live in a glass bubble and worship MSNBC think it's the right thing to do even though they wouldn't know which end the bullet comes out. They need to stick to their smart phones, yuppie beer, little jap cars, and whatever else turns them on but don't be screwing with my rights.

If they want to live in a glass bubble then fine for them, but don't force that ####### on the rest of us.

Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

You have to be a millionaire to afford the prices for the basics where you are now. How much is heating oil?

$6.86 a gallon and it's going up as soon as the first fuel barge gets here after break up (May). I make decent doing side jobs on boilers here and the wife makes good money but we aren't putting anything away that's for sure.

Why would anyone need more?

I have three rifles just for hunting, each one for specific game and most here have more than that. Throw birds in there while your at it. Now add home protection which means semi auto pistol, a hog leg (.500 S&W revolver) for bear protection when I go fishing and then add a .22 rifle for small game.

I can tell you haven't hunted and you haven't spent much time around guns.

Do you heat with wood?

I don't but a lot of people here do. Too much to screw with when I have internet. Either I cut and split wood and then stack it not to mention the snow machine trip out there and back and those trailers only haul so much or I can stick to heating oil and fck off on here and the yahoo college football forum. Internet > wood heating.

Does the oil supply ever run low during the winter? And I image it all must be brought in before everything freezes. By snow machine do you mean snowmobile?

I can tell you haven't hunted and you haven't spent much time around guns.

I have never hunted. I've never even fished. I let other people kill my food.

I have never even touched a real gun. I bought a BB gun to shoot targets on my acre in Maine. I discovered I am a very good shot. When the revolution starts don't mess with me. I'm prepared.

Is a car's primary purpose to intentionally inflict harm on others?

I have an AR-15 that's primary purpose is target shooting. Says so right on the box and it was approved by the government for sale during the Assault Weapons Ban. So, to counter your point, my gun's primary purpose is not to intentionally inflict harm on others.

I'm glad you brought up automobiles though. Way more people die in automobiles than in crimes with a gun. Since it's obvious you're pointing to intent as being the negative part of this "too many dead Americans" issue, you'll now have to concede that intent is a human emotion and has absolutely nothing to do with inanimate objects.

2 guns max. One for defense and one too shoot food.

Can someone shoot more than two guns at once? Does having more than one gun make someone "twice as dangerous?"

I'm continually amazed that otherwise intelligent people somehow assume that someone with more than one gun is somehow more dangerous than someone with only one gun and/or no gun at all.

Until we get more than two hands, the number of guns someone possesses is irrelevant when it comes to how dangerous they are. As a matter of fact, in the shooting world, there's an old saying. "Beware of the man with only one gun."

The person who slaughtered 20 children and 6 adults in Newtown CT didn't own any guns but he took 3 of his mother's guns and was very successful in killing innocent people with them. He didn't say "No point taking one gun. I can't shoot more than one at a time." He took all 3 and did a great job of killing 26 people. He is awesome. You must idolize him.

It does a lot in the smaller villages but not the larger coastal ones like us other than Nome last year and that was because they were stupid. It was moronic thinking on their part that they couldn't get a barge up there. They know all about early freeze ups yet they gambled and lost. Serves me right and I hope they learned something over it. I know a few people lost their jobs over that one.

So how many laws did he break to do that? And which laws are you proposing would stop stuff like this from happening again in the future?

He didn't say "No point taking one gun. I can't shoot more than one at a time." He took all 3 and did a great job of killing 26 people.

How would the outcome have been changed if he only would've had one gun?

He is awesome. You must idolize him.

Your sarcasm is noted.

But here's some real dope. From a training perspective, shooting stationary targets in small rooms is relatively easy - especially if they're not shooting back at you. I wouldn't describe his abilities as awesome. Quite the contrary. In fact, that's why anyone with a gun could've prevented this criminal act from being a national "tragedy." The real tragedy here is we're too chickensh!t to stand up for our own rights.

When something bad happens at school what do they do? They lock the door to the classroom and they hide under their desks. If that isn't the perfect example of America today I don't know what is. We make it easier for those that would do us harm. Why?

Society tells us not to defend ourselves. To shy away from confrontation.

To die... peaceably.

Why don't you drive to Newtown CT and debate your views with the parents of the 20 children who died needlessly.

Go on. I dare you.
