They should put 3-4 unemployed Veterans in every school ,they are been trained to shoot and kill a hostile.. Most of our veterans will love to protect children ..... :innocent: :bonk:

Most middle school and high school have a resource officer appointed to them.

Resource officer is a police officer who is on the campus all the time during the school is in session.

Until now most of the incidents were disgruntled students and not an outsider attacking a school.

Most colleges including community colleges they have their own police force on campus.

I am sure they would have never thought anything like this would happen at an elementry school.

But if you have all these folks that want to have 50 guns in their house and 100,000K worth of ammo, then 10k might be a drop in the bucket for you, but it also my unearth something in your life that might raise a red flag and save lives.

You are living on the base, I guess you can assume your family will be safe they have one layer of security.

No it's not. Our local elementary schools have done just fine w/o an armed sheriff's deputy in front of the building for decades. If the gun nuttery now requires that a sheriff's deputy is placed in front of every school, then I would say it's time that the gun nuts pick up that tab. Immediately raise a tax of $10.00 a bullet and $5,000.00 a firearm to pay for this extra security now needed for no other reason than the ridiculous proliferation of firearms in this country.

Really? What about the tax payers who do not have children yet pay a school tax? What about the US tax payers that pay for illegals in US public schools along with welfare benefits for illegals?

Ya tell that to the people up here, especially all the ones who rely on subsistence hunting in order feed them and their family. It isn't happening in this country. Maybe in liberal fairy land up north or across the pond but not here in the USA.

Then how about only the people who have children in US public schools pay for their education? That goes for public universities also. While we are at it make it a donation only for supporting illegals. If they want to use US public schools then let them or whoever chooses to donate pay for their cost. Same with them receiving medical and welfare. Donations only.

Hyperbole is OK for making a point, I suppose, but for those who don't know better, the vast majority of Alaska's population get at least 95% of their food the exact same way all of us 'outsiders' (those who live in the lower 48, or 'outside' Alaska) do, at the local supermarket! I know, I lived in Fairbanks before!

When I wanted to move to this country I had to pay for my visa and all the medical and background checks etc. When I wanted to remove conditions I had to do it again. If I apply for citizenship I will have to do it again.

When I wanted to drive I had to pay to get a learners permit and then pay again to take the road test and again to get my license. When I got a car I had to pay to register it and I have to do that every 2 years if I want to keep driving.

These are things that are essential to my life so I pay it.

Owning guns isn't essential to most people. It's a choice but they expect to get it for free.

My wife flies to over two dozen villages a year. Iv'e been to just about every village on the Yukon from Fairbanks to St. Mary's. That doesn't include the Bethel area, Norton Sound, North Slope, Aleutians, Pribilov's, etc..... Now you want to tell me what grocery store those people shop at or better yet would you like me to post a map of Alaska on here for you to check out?

The reason I put that at the end was because "move somewhere else" is the exact response I've gotten from MANY people here (including the person I was responding to) whenever I voiced an opinion that they didn't agree with.
