Not really If you ever visited a country that was occupied by the Germans.

My grandpa was one of those intelligent Canadians. He didn't want to fight for the Brits so him and my grandmother came to the US on a deal the US had back then for foreigners being able to get US citizenship if they signed with the US armed forces. He joined the US Navy and never took an order from a Brit during his time in the service. The Brits back then were notorious for using Aussies and Canucks for cannon fodder.

I've never been into genealogy. My family on both sides is Scottish going back at least 5 or 6 generations. I've no idea after that.

Americans seem to like knowing where they came from. My wife (the one that I always get to fight my battles) is interested in it. She traced her mother's family back to a town 10 miles from where I was born and they had the same family name then as mine.

I might be married to my cousin!

Frisian and Norwegian on my dads side traced back to the 16th century. His grandmother was straight off the boat from Norway, French Canuck on my moms father's side traced back to Brittany in the 17th century, Scot/Norwegian on my moms mothers side that came here from Inverness and before that Orkney.

My wife's dad's side has Russian Romanian Irish and Mandan Indian. Her mother's side has Scottish and English that came through Nova Scotia and Maine into Mass.

I've got pure Scottish blood and alcohol in my veins.

Nope, they waited until they got halfway to Ireland and then sunk as many as they could. Sinking an unarmed freighter in the middle of the ocean isn't comparable to invading a country. The only time we were invaded during WW2 was when the Japs landed on Attu Island in order to set up a naval base to sink American freighters on there way to Russia with arms and materials. The Japs made two Aleut Eskimo villages disappear off the face of the planet along with the inhabitants right before the US set up a base on Shemya Island and bombed the dog ####### out of them right before the US invaded. A lot of the Aleutian Islands have Japanese and US bombs, shot up planes, ships, anti aircraft guns, etc... from those battles. They still find bombs just about every year, usually from Aleut Eskimo kids out playing and they are taught to report them as soon as they make a visual.

It's because of those battles that there is an ALCAN Highway that goes from Washington state to Alaska via BC and YT Canada. It was Americans that built that highway.

There should be an armed security officer in these elementary schools. There should only be one entrance and one exit. Every person should be screened before entering. I am sure the states can offord one armed security guard in each school.

One entrance and one exit implies poor life safety standards. There need to be multiple exits in cases of fire or other emergencies. Windows are not adequate to comply with these standards.
