Its maddening for pro guns and gun owners too that whenever any such incident happens ppl just jump on the guns and project as guns are the evil of society without even looking at the root cause of the problem.

Most media reported what kinda gun were used in Sandy first before even reporting the actual number of casualty or even before confirming the name of the shooter.

Day later most media reported about the guy having mental problem and health issues.

Just coz you dont like gun or you dont use one you are ok on facilitating regulation on them.

i didn't see that from the media. i didn't read about what guns where used before i read how many were killed. if anything, the media further fuels the flame for young disenfranchised loners who want to make a name for themselves. the media is no more pro gun than it is anti gun..

Val erie – are now just arguing for arguing perspective?

comon.... you are ok with ppl not pumping that money in economy.

no, i'm arguing my perspective. i don't think that the u.s. is going to ban 2/3 of guns. i don't think that there is enough public support for that to happen. further, less gun sales is hardly going to collapse the economy. there are plenty of other things to buy/produce.. like miniature caskets and ritalin refills.

How many times have u seen a front page report CCW saves lives?

A young girl shot an intruder and saving her life. A shop owner saved the customer and herself from being robbed.

Last week you saw the news about shooting at mall did you see that gunman was confronted by a guy carrying CCW?

When Sandy Hook happened by the evening they had in news that SIG and Glock were used and yet they were to confirm the identity of the gunman they were saying he could be.. Lanza and possibly his mother was teacher and he shot her in school etc.

Question is why were the names of the guns first thing in the media?

i'm sorry but i honestly think you're filling in gaps with what you want to see. the media is concerned with sensationalism, nothing more. they're in it for ratings and $$$. if you're a thinking adult, take some personal responsibility for what you watch and how you interpret american 'news'. again, the names of the guns weren't the first thing in the media. and they definitely weren't announced before the number of victims.

Kinda like the Muslims feel when some wacko claiming to be a Muslim blows shite up? And isn't it by and large the same population over there on the political right doing exactly what they then complain about when the perp happens to be a gun freak? Yeah. Sucks, don't it?

no, i said that i support gun ownership. i've said this probably twenty times but again: people should be allowed to own guns. i said i personally don't have one and don't care to..

mmkay, i just went back and read my post "56". i was referring to different types of guns and what type of gun would be allowed and what type of gun wouldn't. i said i'm not a gun enthusiast, so i don't give a sh*t if they ban a certain type of gun..if americans are still allowed to own regular guns that shoot regular bullets, that's good enough for me. i personally don't see the need for all the fancy automatic assault weapon whatever and i think anyone trying to argue their place in the civilized world is only making an #### of themselves..

So your happy with current laws which have banned the fancy automatic assault weapons for the past 30 or so years.

yeah, i am. other people aren't though..i do not blame guns for mass shootings, i don't think that additional regulations will stop them from occurring. i was asking why it matters if there are further restrictions on legal gun ownership? why does it instantly become "they're taking our guns!" when that's not what is being proposed. actually, nothing at all has been proposed..
