Being on SSI for mental health issues and owning a gun should be a no no imo. That one would have me worried. Can he legally own a gun and be drawing SSI for that reason or is he skirting the law somehow?

No, the NRA just did what it could to make sure that this individual had access to the firearms used in this crime. And the NRA will continue their fight to put a gun into the hand of every unfit person. The NRA exists to ensure that more innocent people get killed. It is the NRA's very goal. They have the blood of these children on their dirty hands.

Are you dim? The NRA wants people to have guns and doesn't give a first sh!t whether these people are full of drugs or not. They don't care. All they care about is that the gun trade flourishes. That's it. And if 20 young children die in the process, they don't care. Guns do not belong into the hands of people not fit to handle them. Plain and simple. The NRA believes that everyone - fit or unfit - ought to be armed to their teeth. That is why I say that they have the blood of these kids on their hands.

I thought it was FBI. But it's up to the state to legislate who where and how purchases guns and the regulation of it.

That's a whole other story... you can go from a gun show directly to an elementary school now and exercise your 2nd amendment rights..... I want to bang my head against the wall...

The NRA teaches gun safety. The rest is up to the states and the Feds. Feds trump states.

I'm pretty sure if you take any civilized country, any major city there - they'd have less victims of gun violence in a year then we did in Newtown...

Here's just one comparison for you. A country with VERY strict gun control v a country that doesn't.

NICS has record of any adjudication resulting in involuntary commitment. such is a disqualifier, under the "Brady Bill" that created NICS.

NRA supported Brady when it was debated.

disqualifiers all result from judicial order, whether it be criminal, or mental health, and nothing less than judicial order. such is due process.

you wanna give the power to deny civil rights to anyone less than a judge? this country doesn't work that way.
