Sending excess baggage to the US from NZ

I've been looking at some alternatives for sending excess baggage to the US from NZ. I'd be grateful to hear of what worked best for anyone who has done this. I'm looking at Auckland to Florida - initially for clothing etc unaccompanied, and smaller items, but also wondering about shipping bigger things later on, and whether its worth doing. Anyone with experience of this ..? I'd appreciate any advice (and assuming of course that one day I will eventually get my visa) :mellow:

Mar 2011 - After 5mths denied for lost docs - Attempts to follow up failed. Mar 18 2012 - I-129F sent - No sign of NOA1 but they have banked the check...Jul 24 - Update - USCIS has located our file
Infopass Apt - they sorted through everything - our 2011 and 2012 file keep getting mixed up - getting us a Case# (still waiting) Dec- Infopass Appt- expecting to get a case # in about a week ..Still no Case number
Mar 2013 Infopass - advised file was in a box somewhere,and it would be quicker for us to refile. Life gets in the way... New petition submitted July 2014 .

I went to the Postshop, and got 5 large boxes, and mailed it all to myself. 3 weeks later, in spite of them telling me it would take a couple of months, everything turned up fine. I only sent clothes and personal belongings, wasn't worth it to me to send anything else. Electronics won't work, and they have furniture here ;)

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Any idea who you are flying with?

Air NZ prepaid excess baggage seems to be the way to go. Can't beat $95 for an extra 23kg, and I think the second extra is $145 (used to be much much more than this, $145 for the first and $275 for the second!).

Alternatively some airlines offer better baggage deals - i.e. Hawaiian does 2 x 30kg.

This sounds pretty good.. yes I thought it was more. And most likely Air NZ. I have furniture and things also...some special items but sounds like its not worth it to do that.. I was wondering about shipping a share of a container or something but its probably not worth the cost.. Thanks for your help.

I have too much for Postshop boxes I think. I have some other special furniture items etc, but guess I will pass them on to my family. Thanks
