We could actually tackle this issue if we would have the politicians in D.C. grow a fcuking pair. Throw out the bums that will idly stand by as our children are sacrificed at the altar of gun nuttery. Get rid of politicians that are willing to shake the bloody hands of William LaPierre.

There ya go, blame guns. Funny thing about guns is that everyone I grew up with had guns starting in elementary school and there weren't any of these whack job killings. No permits required, you wanted a new gun you could pick it up at the feed store and if you wanted to buy used you could pick one up easy enough at a garage sale, friend, news paper classified add, or pawn shop. No whack jobs shooting up malls, classrooms, theaters, what have you. So explain why that was. We kept our guns under our beds or in our closets with the ammo right next to them.

The liberal way out is to take away peoples rights instead of going to the root of the problem and trying to fix it. A NANNY STATE. Don't beat your kids for sneaking to McDonalds when you told them no, just BAN MCDONALDS so everyone gets screwed. Take away peoples choices before you fix your own. That's always been the lib spiel and it makes me sick to my stomach. Just like that idiot Bloomberg in NYC banning super sized cola's. Or better yet Chicago banning guns yet it's a war zone there. Why don't we read about Chicago instead of Connecticut?

http://homicides.redeyechicago.com/ <------- Looky looky. You don't see this all over the news do you? Yet guns are banned there.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Reading problems, comprehension problems or both?

Nice to see you dodge that post. No surprise there.

As usual the gun lovers first thought is to defend their right to have guns. It seems America loves it's guns more than it loves it's children.

And you don't want to go one on one with one of these if a knife is all you have for protection.

You don't see many of these in Connecticut.

Don't let facts get in the way. Just post something like that and call it good. That way you don't have to actually do any homework aka think.

Right now after reading about the horror of 20 children aged 5-10 being slaughtered by some maniac I don't really give a ** about having pointless debates with people who thing guns are fun!

Seeing how you don't want to debate using facts, find another thread to troll. I'm sure if you lived in Scotland you wouldn't have to worry about someone shooting you. Something to consider in case you hear the Highlands calling you back.

He is a gun toting socialist. What do you expect?

I'm thinking of getting one of these bumper stickers along with a pro Obama one for my truck.

ever notice that it's always the same people who try to validate their argument by telling foreigners that maybe they should go home, back where they came from?

ever notice those same people are the ones who never have anything of substance to add to the conversation, they succeed only in over generalizing and repeating half truths?

i enjoy reading and discussion of other people's opinions and perspectives. finding common ground is the only way this country can make positive progress. unfortunately there are adults in this world who for one reason or another, get their maturity stunted and suddenly find themselves middle aged and totally incapable of using reason and mutual respect to relate to the rest of the world. i suppose this is why there's an ignore function in most social platforms. man don't i wish we had that capability with reality..

How many links have been posted in this forum ad nauseum pointing out that gun control is a failure? Lots. The "save our children spiel" is a cop out.

I was born and raised in the USA and have had a gun in my hand since age 4 as was the norm for just about every kid within a dozen towns of us. We hunted on our own with no parental supervision from elementary school. Guns were way more easily accessible back then vs now and no we didn't have people shooting up schools back then. You want to explain that one please.

I've already stated in another thread that there's more to these massacres than just having guns available. Kids are growing up with a warped sense of perspective. Probably due to the daily diet of violence in movies and video games.

I actually agree with you that people like yourself who grew up with guns and learned to use them properly are likely to be safer and more stable than kids who play halo all day and don't seem to be able to differentiate between real death and what is on their computer screens.

But if guns weren't so easy to come by things like this would be less likely to happen. Harder to kill 27 people with a knife.
