I called the Military Police today and asked them If I can have a copy of the report I made last November...

Unfortunately,I dont recall the name of the 2 officer who interviewed me and take note all my what happened they made copy of my Dependent id and Green card...that day also one of the officer called someone in the other base i think it is Family assistance and referred me to her...

So what can i do to have a copy of the report if the officer that i talked said he cant see any record???

I asked him also if he can check whos the watch commander the day that i went to the base through they can track down whos the officer i made a report right???he said he cannot do that..i dont know now what to do :crying:

But I'm able to get a statement from the person from family assistance stated that day officer from the base have called her about my situation...

any idea??

You need some kind of an advocate to help you. Since the military police is part of the military and the military is a federal agency, I would suggest you contact your congressmen for assistance. You can find your local district representative through google if you dont know who it is. They will have a local office. You can call first but you dont need to. You can just walk in and tell them you need help with 'constituent services'- specifically dealing with a federal agency. They will ask you which one- and you tell them. They'll give you a form to fill out, which is basically a release, giving them permission to contact them on your behalf.

One of the aides in the office should be able to sit down with you and discuss your problem. Tell them the issues your having. They can advocate on your behalf. Perhaps by sending in a fax request or making phone calls. I really dont know.

If you are unable to go to the office, you can do this over the phone and mail in the form giving them permission, but I think youll get better results speaking with the aide in person.

shin, you really don't need to go as far as contacting your representitive....and they would probably be reluctant to help anyway as you're not able to vote.

I'm AF, but Army procedures are usually similiar. 1) The First Sgt should have received a copy of the report. 2) JA should have received a copy. 3) The military police definetly have a copy somewhere, in the AF a section called "Reports & Analysis" generate/file all the reports....Army probably has that too or an equivalent office....ask to speak to a supervisor if you try them again and they tell you the same BS story, they can find it by date or your sponsor's name or your name.

^ I have to strongly disagree with the above.

As far as them being reluctant to provide aide as she is 'unable to vote'- OMG. They routine provide aide to people seeking help with immigration matters (people unable to vote). Its part of their job. They represent everyone who resides in their district- which involves immigrants, LPRS, and citizens. And they provide aide to everyone equally- whether your black, white, polka dot, a democrat a republican, a registered voter, or in-eligible to vote.

She went to the military police already and asked for a copy of the report and was given a BS story. Why? Its my opinion that they are 'protecting' him. He is one of theirs after all. Since she tried already on her own and failed she needs an advocate and going to her state representative is not a big deal. Her only other option is to try again on her own more aggressively, BUT since she is seeking a report on a DV incident and based on her previous posts she seems to be timid in nature, she may not be able to aggressively demand this own her own with out an advocate behind her.

^I dont know how one result can be better then another- they both will be the same thing-- a copy of the report she filed. Perhaps your way is faster, but again, it requires more aggression on the part of the OP.

Either way- she has two possible ways to try to approach the situation now: she can try to go back and speak to a supervisor as you described above. Perhaps using the terminology you described, she can demand they locate it and provide her with a copy OR she can contact her representative and have them advocate/demand for it on her behalf.

Are you even affiliated with the US military? It seems like you have no idea of what you are talking about. She's been in contact with the JA and First Sgt alreadt in the past, that would be the easiest path. Trying again with the mil police would be 2nd easiest. Chances are she'll get the report by then.

A congressional inquiry takes alot of time for a US citizen....for someone that they don't even represent the chances of getting help are slim to none.

No I am not affiliated with the military. Which is why I did not offer any advice or guidance on what the proper channels would be for the OP to go through to try to secure the report through the military police and instead suggested she contact an outside advocate to help her.

With all due respect you are way off base with your concept of congressional inquiries- who they serve and how they work. They dont take 'alot of time'. The aide would immediately fax in her request or make some phone calls and have a response with in a week. And again, the congressmen represents everyone that lives in the district- including the OP. It doesnt matter that shes a greencard holder and not a citizen/registered voter. He or she is the OPs representative. They will help her if she asks for help.

Belinda- the OP is currently involved in a divorce and is attempting to obtain a copy of a DV report she filed with military police to be used in her divorce case but was told they "cant see any record" - so they gave her nothing. She knows theres something because there was an incident, but she cant remember who took the report (and they wont tell her who was on duty/dispatched there) and is asking if theres another way to get the report/ find that info out.

shin - the clerk in the JAG office can get that report for you, from the MP office.

It may take a day, but it's gettable.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Jag lawyer already sent me copy of that i went to his office to seek legal advise this is what stated: case opened 11/20 remarks: Family dispute with husband.Husband is active duty

I made the report to Military Police on 11/16 2 officers who are the watch Commander that day who took all my info and my story..

that same day I asked them if I can have a copy of the report but they said is since theres no physical abuse they will just put all the entry in their system i dunno whats that mean...then they called another base referred me to this lady in charge with family assistance and she referred me to see Jag lawyer..

So i asked this staff at family assistance if she can still remember the name the officer who called her on 11/16 the day that i was at the base making a report unfortunately she don't but shes willing to give me statement that MP called her that day and referred me to her..

Also I never asked his CO yet if he has the record but I'm sure the day that i was making the report the MP told me that he called my ex's CO and his bosses too..

I will try to call MP again next week maybe if i can talk to different person it will be different...I am afraid that my ex is doing something about that...

Also I went back to the housing this Friday its soo painful to returned the keys of the house talked to manager she made a statement that i was there and keys were returned....my husband still living there i told her i thought he cannot stay there anymore of I'm not gonna live with him right??? I was not living with him for a month now the manager told me when I moved out on 11/15 that she will give my husband a 30 days notice to evacuate but well its already a month now but hes still living there....

My husband told his CO that he gonna move out end of November Do I have to let his CO know that he lied to him???

Also when I Came back to the housing seeing our apartment bring back all the memories i got soo emotional i started crying talking to housing manager I forgot she's not my therapist lol....

But I'm getting better...still attending DV class and seeing this group of women and hearing their stories makes me feel sad but seeing them also how they become better and really how strong they are it really motivates me..

Also seeing my therapist shes really helping with my emotions...

I will also see a psychiatrist next month...therapist cannot prescribed anti-depressant and anti anxiety so better see a psychiatrist even once...

and also THANKS for all the people here in VJ who really giving me a very helpful answers...Appreciated

May GOD bless all of you and your family....

If ur affiliated of military u should know the rules ... If MP said they can't find your report. Ask ur squad lead. Next team leader . Plt leader so on and so for. That's why there's a chain of command. But most likely it this kind of case go to sgt family readiness he will help u what u need to do. And if not let me know . Tell me what is ur unit and I will call them to help u out.

Do not Contact the MP if they keep telling they cant help you. Go to his unit and talk to his family readiness officer. you need to contact is his UNIT to ask for a copy of your file report. IF the unit said they do not have one. talk to his first sgt. if first sgt they dont have one . talk to his commander officer. for sure he has a copy. Unless MP navy did not file the report.
