So I'm currently waiting for my fiance's G-325A and intent to marry letter w/ original signature to be mailed to me...

I am planning my wedding...

I'm just wondering how everyone did it...I know that it's highly unlikely to be able to book a venue and all the goodies withing a 90 day period once our love one is with us...did ya'll just sign the paper work and did the reception at another time???

Did ya'll just get hitched in Vegas???

The more and more I think about it the more I feel like I'm planning for a wedding that I don't even know when it's going to happen

Did anyone else feel this way???

Of course! I feel sometimes like my whole life is in limbo waiting for this process to move forward. Not to mention, the whole cost of moving my stuff..are we even going to have enough money to have the wedding we want? Should we book stuff now, should we wait? I feel very overwhelmed with it all at times. Good luck with your wedding. I am sure it will all work out, it always does! :luv:

A lot of people did a small civil service when they arrived in the US and then started their AOS paperwork. In the meantime, they started to plan for a big wedding with all of the trimmings, which while it wouldn't be their legal marriage since they are already married, would be their wedding celebration with a public exchange of vows and a reception to follow.

For us, we wanted something small as neither of us had family in the area and weren't into big parties. We located a beautiful historic Southern Plantation, arranged for a simple ceremony by a judge in the heritage gardens, then followed up with a small reception in a tea room that continued later at home. It was absolutely lovely - and surprisingly stress free.

There are always a number of options available as long as you are willing to live with the things that can't be changed and work around them to create an event that is meaningful and happy.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

We had a small civil ceremony (just my husband and I), and now we are planning our family/friends wedding with a ceremony (like a vow renewal) and a reception. His parents are coming from overseas and I wanted enough time to plan it considering we have 100+ guests!

El destino me ha unido a vos.

Thanks to Pinterest I'm forever looking at ideas for my wedding!

And I've expressed my concern to the fiance too...

I even suggested we have our wedding on his birthday...help him remember our anniversary too!

But yea...I should save up for a small intimate wedding at Disney World...I'll be satisfied with that. It's not a true wedding to me if its not at Disney. lol

but maybe its cause im a girl and ive been thinking of my wedding for lord knows how long...just dont know who the groom is...until now! lol
