I just had my biometrics appointment today! Nice and easy: in at 8 a.m., out by 8:40. Hope the rest of the process is as smooth! Happy New Year everyone!

I was told by an agent that it does speed up the process simply because your biometrics get sent to the FBI for your background check and once they send back a clear/positive response to USCIS your case is moved forward for continued processing.. But he did say it'll depend on the location if they're busy at the very moment you go they might turn you away, so what i did was go almost at the end of the working day and i was in and out in less than 10 mins.

I called to see if I can do a walk-in and USCIS said they do not do walk-ins. I am off Friday, and our appointment is on Monday the 28th, so I think that I am going to go Friday and see.

Phase I - IV - Completed the Immigration Journey

what are the documents are you going to take with you for biometrics?

I moved to LA and still I dont have CA's driver's license. will it be ok?

I am also temtped to do a walk-in, as my wife is 8 months pregnant and it would be wise to get it done BEFORE she suddenly (out-of-no-where) goes into labor.

We filed our AOS on December 10th. We just checked our status today and we are in "Testing and Interview". Any advice as to what to bring or preparation for the interview?

Thats what they'll tell you, their system is in place to avoid congestion, but when you go and its not that busy and you're willing to wait they'll do it.. If its not out of your way, like if you have to travel like 100+ miles to get there it wouldn't hurt to try.

Hey December Filers! I got a status update notification of "Testing and Interview" for my AOS yesterday: 01/17. I hope I get an interview letter soon.

Can anyone do an early walk in once you have the app letter in hand? And does it really speed up the process of getting ead/ap, or is it just what you suppose? Thanks!

We did a walk-in two weeks early and got lucky, they don't do walk-ins anymore but let us. It hasn't speeded anything up for us..
