We read on other boards, unless your AOS is transferred to CSC. they will schedule an interview after "Notice of Transfer" to local USCIS where you reside. However, someone in this board mentioned that as of August 2012, they no longer transfer AOS petitions to CSC due to backlogs. So, like most of us, our AOS petitions will remain at NBC and wait for that "Notice of Transfer"to our local USCIS for interviews.

Or your case will be interview-waived and the GC will be adjudicated directly at the NBC.

There is no way of knowing if you'll get an interview or not: my local office is behind and working on June applications - my AOS has been sitting at the NBC since September. It might eventually get transferred, or I might, months down the road, randomly receive my GC in the mail.

Two options:

NBC adjudicates GC = no interview

NBC transfers case to local office = interview

Thanks for the info.

We'll just have to wait for our EAD/AP for now, which according to timeline we should get them by the middle of February.

It may have to do with where you're being processed at. I am at the National Benefits Center. Does that mean that my EAD is approved and the next step is for them to mail me my card?

Interview letter mailed out today. Interview on March 7th.

Yay! Nice to see how everyone is making progress!

Judging for your timeline, it takes around two weeks (since you see the case status change on-line) for USCIS to schedule the interview and notify you by mail. It looks that they let you know about a month in advance. Based on that I think our interview will be around mid-March.

Our AOS has been at NBC since we received the notification and there is no update. We think it has something to do with adjusting status from K-1 as supposed CR-1.

Hello Everyone!

I have been reading all of your posts and wanted to join in! I am a December 2012 AOS Filer. My I-485 is currently in the "testing and interview" stage, but we have no date for an interview yet, I am becoming a little anxious. I wake up everyday hoping to get that text and email notifying what the next step is. I read a lot about other people's experiences, hubby tells me to stop, to be patient or I will drive myself crazy. Patience is really what you need through out this process, because it can be so frustrating. I really would just like to know the date that they will assign for our interview , but like most, if not all of you, I would really really like to have my EAD in my hands so I could Start working already! I guess all we can do is wait patiently for all these things to come together.

Edited by raising hope

Yes it should. I was actually preparing myself for the worst case scenario so it is nice to have a date already. I expect to see more movement in our December thread in the next couple of weeks. Wishing everyone EADs ASAP!
