I'm watching the live feed on wfsb. There are reports that the firefighters and those escorting the children out had them close their eyes as they passed the front office and also a child saying that his teacher had been shot.

Mmm. The latest from the AP wire says 3 confirmed critically wounded. Only one person is dead and that's the suspected shooter. There is going to be a press conference in about 45 minutes and then we'll all be on the same page.

Children among those killed in Connecticut shooting - paper

Dec 14 (Reuters) - Some children were among those killed in a shooting at an elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut, on Friday, The Hartford Courant reported.

The newspaper said "multiple" people had been fatally shot, citing unnamed sources. It had earlier said it was unclear whether children were among the dead, but updated the story to say children were killed in the incident.
