  1. 1. What should the national response be to this tragedy?

    • There shouldn't be a national response at all.

I posted on that below before I saw your post. It matters because CBS beat that point to death tonight and people that don't know any better thought " Wow those are dangerous guns " LOL. I personally would not have a prefrance if were to be shot by a .40 Glock as opposed to a .40 S and W LOL

we can agree on that and when it breaks lose I will be well armed with my dangerous looking evil Assault weapons. For those of you who hate guns but have food I will come see you !

I rather have food than bragging rights of owning a stock pile of weapons you cant eat guns.

Ahh I see this gun looks like the ones in Movies so it is a bad deadly gun. As opposed to my remington model 1100 loaded with .00 buck. which has nice wood grain stocks and looks like a hunting gun so it is not a problem.

Guess which one I would rather defend my home with or for that matter which one would be more dangerous in a public shooting situation.

See the problem is all you know about guns is what you google or see on TV. Most of which is wrong.

I guess you're in the superhero camp that thinks if ONLY you had been there, you could have saved all those people with your BIG BAD deadly gun.

I'm interested for more facts to emerge about what kind of "military gear" this guy was wearing and whether any of you macho studs could have put a dent in his defense.

Personally, all I need in my home is a double barreled shotgun. I don't even have to be a good shot and nobody is walking away from that without a dent.

No in this case arming a bunch of 5 year olds would not have made a difference and I am not one of those that thinks I could have saved the day .

Your right about your shotgun and that was the point I was trying to get you to see. The assault weapon ban was silly and those guns are no more dangerous than your double barrel shotgun in most situations. Also the fact that CBS was playing up the fact that one of the guns was a SIg "like the secret service carries" was idiotic media sensationalism.

I love my 1100.

There is no meaningful gun control in this country. If I remember correctly, some 40% of gun sales by-pass gun control laws. If almost half of gun sales have no controls, then there is effectively no gun control.

Well then 60% don't by pass which is 60% more control than we had 40 years ago. When I was a teenager way back in the day, almost everyone had a gun and even kept them in open site in their vehicles at school, but this sort of stuff never happened.

We don't have more access to guns but we have way more gun violence. So what has changed has not been more guns.

Yes but If I have guns and you don't then taking your food would not be an issue would it. If you have huge stockpiles of food and no weapons, and society collapses you will be one of two things.

An instant commune or dead. I am guessing the second.

Don't try to make me appear to agree with you lol The assault weapons ban is NOT silly. You're right that I'm not an encyclopedia of firearms, nor do I care to be. I have what I need to take care of business. But, I DON'T need an assault rifle nor would my husband. WHY? Because it's there? If assault weapons aren't dangerous (which is a ludicrous argument), then why aren't the military issued double barreled shotguns?? Can you answer that one? :luv:

What are you even TALKING about? The apocalypse? Now who is watching too much TV?

Incidentally, I've noticed a direct correlation between avid Walking Dead viewers and avid gun proponents...just sayin. The zombies aren't really coming ...but it's just a show I promise.

Because you have to reload every 2 shots and the ammo is bulky.

Why not?

What about convicted felons possessing firearms?

Which part of "Shall not be infringed" do you all not understand in the second amendment of the constitution?

Just because you don't think of someone as equal to yourselves, doesn't mean that you can discriminate against them by your own bias. The last time I checked the 14th amendment protects against that as well.

What about convicted felons possessing firearms?

Convicted felons usually have committed one or more felonies, so they can be subject to sorta ignore that little detail about possessing firearms frequently!
