  1. 1. What should the national response be to this tragedy?

    • There shouldn't be a national response at all.

Vehicles are responsible for more deaths in this country than guns. Think on that one.

btw drugs are banned in this country yet people OD on drugs in the US every minute. Let's ban those drugs...oh wait..

Vehicular accidents are one thing. People generally do not get into a vehicle intending to crash it and inflict harm on others, do they? Vehicles have other uses and with so many on the roads and people being idiots, accidents happen. But they're very rarely used as a primary weapon to do some serious damage.

So please. Stop comparing gun violence to car accidents. The comparison doesn't hold up and sounds ridiculous.

I'm going to say this once more and then be done with it. It doesn't seem to be getting through.

I. DO NOT. SUPPORT. BANNING. GUNS.

Guns are the major cause of all these deaths thats the bottom line. But Americans have right to bear arms so let them embrace that precious right instead of their children. we all must make tough choices.

Yes, guns aren't going anywhere. I'd much rather see efforts focused on bringing security to schools the same way they have in the inner city.

This is America and we have our Constitution. It is what it is and gun rights opponents do not have the support to push through a constitutional amendment to remove the 2nd Am.

Gun control and second amendment rights are not mutually exclusive.

Some of my FB friends are suggesting psych screens for gun ownership. A psych screen for a constitutional right? How about a psych screen before you can vote or express yourself or go to a church of your choosing?

It's insanity. If the 2nd Am. is that much of a problem (clearly, it is) then remove it the way it should be removed. Through the Amendment process. Anything less than that opens the door to the other side using similar legislative sleight of hand to limit/inhibit rights they don't like. Like the right to vote.

Your gun lover? make me puke. Rights to arms should be removed and all gun shops closed.

Gun control will never happen he is right about that. its a dream only. the gun industry is one million times more powerful than the tobacco companies plus believe it or not majority of Americans support the right to bear arms. This is why I said its time to move to another country that is safer. someplace like Canada. I dont read these crazy things happening in Canada???

Ok time to listen to Mr President now

Obama wimps out:

Obama spokesman: ‘Today’s not the day’ for gun control talk

A White House spokesman said Friday that the shooting rampage at a Connecticut school saddened President Barack Obama as a father, but that "today's not the day" for a discussion about possible gun control measures to be taken in response to the massacre.

"Today's not ... a day to engage in the usual Washington policy debates," press secretary Jay Carney told reporters. "That day will come, but today's not that day."

http://homicides.redeyechicago.com/ <---- Gun ownership in Chicago has been all but banned and looky here. Ya gun control has done wonders in places like Chicago and DC. So we know gun control isn't the answer so lets pretend like we have half a brain and drop that #######.

Drugs like meth, coke, and heroin are illegal yet people in this country OD on that ####### by the thousands every year so we know how that one works.

That leaves us with option #3. Why are these whack jobs doing this kind of #######. And again have half a brain and leave the gun control out of it seeing how we know that's a bs way out and disrespects anyone with an IQ above a peanut not to mention the victims in the OP. Show some class.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

You mean you didn't know that everyone in China is a reborn Bruce Lee? The farmers there are the deadliest of them all. Kung Fu pitch forks. Where's David Carradine when you need him?
