The superintendent's secretary, Kathy June, says reports of a shooting are not confirmed.

The school is located at 12 Dickinson Drive. There is no confirmed information from police about who or how many people have been shot.

A witness told News 8 she saw two children, one had a bloody face, the other with a hand injury.

Newtown emergency officials are telling parents to stay by their phone, not to go to the school.

Connecticut State Police are responding to reports of a shooting at a Newtown elementary school in southwestern Connecticut, according to police spokesman Lt. Paul Vance.

The Newtown Bee is reporting multiple police, ambulance and emergency crews are at the scene, and there are multiple reports of injuries being reported.
