Waiting on green card

Hello everyone,

I am new to this site so I don't know much of the terminology use

Anyways my question is this. My wife is getting her green card through our marriage.

We already received our welcome letter and our last update said that the production of the card was ordered and that was on 12/13.

Now our situation is that some family members are inviting us to Mexico with all the expenses paid and everything but they plan to leave on 12/28 so I'm wondering if I should wait for her green card or if there's a way to get some type of permission from immigrations so that she can come back into the country.

We already got the hard copy of the welcome letter and the email with the production of the card was ordered on 12/13. What do you guys think?

You will likely receive the green card within 7 days, but you can always make an Infopass appointment at your local USCIS office and receive an I-551 stamp in her passport which will act as a temporary green card until the real one arrives in the mail.

like what Hypnos has said, you'll most likely get your GC in the coming days. if you want to be sure, you can make an infopass appointment w/ your local USCIS office. just bring your passport and a copy of the welcome letter and explain your situation. but chances are, you might receive the GC in the mail before your appointment date comes.
