Well the affidavits were really simple. She just wanted letters from USC or permanent residents.

It has to state their relationship to you and your spouse. How often they see you, what they know about your relationship, when they first heard about your relationship or when they first met you!

Date of birth

Place of birth

Phone number

Adress

And now birth certificate or passport or evidence of lawful permanent residency!

Omg!!! My husband just received a phone call from the IO! She said that we could send a affidavit of another friend! So happy!

Wondering What could be the reason they're asking for affidavits now?

Did you submit enough evidences of living together like lease, bank stmt's, photos with each other families, health/Life insurance etc?

AOS (from H1-B) Timeline:

Yes I had it all.

I've been with my husband for 5 years, we had plenty of evidence including a child together!

She approved us before we even got in there.

But she wanted every single piece of evidence on that list!

Like I said she showed it to me.

But it could have been just her and she said its different with me because she is granting me permanent residency!

WOW ! Then you might not need anything else.

What list?

There is no such list other than the minimum documents that you need to produce to be qualified for the application.

All that matters is satisfaction of the IO which doesn't seem to be a problem in yr case as you're already living together & have a child together (biggest evidence i would

say)

She didn't print out her entire checklist she needed. But she printed the part of evidence that was required before she could approve me!

I can share it later if you like!

This is a bit weird...I have friends as affidavits and they were notarized, and had their date of birth, place of birth and address on it, but none of them provided a copy of their birth certificate, or for their US passports so that seems a bit unusual for me that your IO asks for those. Are you sure they are asking for those? Could it be that they are asking for your spouse's birth certificate and/or passports as the petitioner? It just sounds odd for asking these from affidavits who write about you and your spouse....good luck though!

No it was the affidavit, that people wrote verifying our relationship!!! This lady went straight by her list!!! ( she had a checklist she followed!!)

That doesn't mean everybody is going to need this!

She made it clear that she was granting me permanent residency, so she wanted every piece of evidence!

She called my husband telling him that we could submit another affidavit, but she needed the proof of either US citizenship or permanent residency!

Hey there: Okay, I guess she was particularly picky....well, hopefully you can get another affidavit who can provide you a copy of their birth certificate and/or their passport. All the best, and don't worry, sounds to me either way you'll be all right! :)

Already got one, sending it in tomorrow morning! Hopefully it will be alright! I'll let you all now
