CR1 Interview at Consulate/Embassy - questions

Hi everyone,

I spent all afternoon looking for this on previous posts....I found interview question examples for K1, K3 and AOS, but not to CR1/IR1. I know they are somewhere between a K3 and AOS, but I'd like to have something more specific.

My interview is a month away and I'd really like some advice! If you've been to the interview at the US Consulate in Rio, even better!!! But of course all inputs are welcome!!!

Our questions:

1. How did you meet?

2. When and specifically?

3. What is marriage date?

4. Why did she divorce? Trick question I was widowed.

5. Names of kids and ages?

6. Where will you live?

7. What is her job?

8. How long was she in Pakistan and why a short time?

9. What job will you perform in US?

10. Do your families approve of the marriage?

Just basic questions is all we were asked. Good luck on your interview.

At our CR-1 interview in Caracas, the most personal question they asked was "what is the date of your marriage?" We were almost dissappointed that we didn't get to show any of the relationship evidence we had brought, but on the other hand, it was OK not to get a hard grilling. We went to the interview together, and were communicating in Spanish with each other the whole time. They only gave us five days notice for the interview, so the fact that a USC hopped on a plane to come to Caracas on such short notice may have been a factor, I don't know.

They went over the questions on the DS-230, and went over the affidavit of support. They made us wait a long time in between short questioning sessions at the window.

Different people's experiences will vary, of course, but I believe if you look at people's experiences for K-3 and adjustment of status interviews, you'll find a sampling of the kinds of things to expect in a CR-1 interview.
